Hotel Ama-La, Thamel, Kathmandu

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The property is lovely, the staff is extremely friendly, and the facilities are impeccably clean. The room was comfortable with nice hot water, and the hotel's location was convenient. My stay was truly enjoyable, and the manager was especially helpful. I look forward to returning to this hotel in the future."

Perfect location x in the heart of Kathmandu. Very easy to commute to places. The breakfast is lovely. Stayed with my family. The staffs are very helpful and very professional.

Well I stayed here for 3 nights with my family. Location is great, rooms are comfortable specially the mattress is so comfy..... staff were amazingly helpful ... And highly recommend aswell as gonna book again In future....

unfortunately there Is school next to them and while I was staying there, they were having some sports day and so it was super noisy .... other than that everything is perfect.....

Facilities are excellent. The highlight was the bed. We have not found a more comfortable bed anywhere in our Asia travels.

As typical with most Asia midrange hotels, bathrooms are “wet”. (Shower facilities not confined to a specific area.)

I Recently stayed at Ama la Hotel in themel Kathmandu and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel's prime location is ideal for both business and leisure travelers, offering easy access to key attractions. The staff at Ama la Thamel Kathmandu were exceptionally hospitable and ensured a smooth check-in and check-out process. Very pleased with our stay at Hotel Ama-la. Breakfast was delicious and in house coffee was above my expectations (for an Australian coffee lover). The location was fantastic down a quiet alley but very close to the heart of Thamel area. The room was comfortable and had beautiful warm lighting, double glazed windows and very warm. It was also nice and quiet which was good because we had a baby with us. I would also say it was very safe for young kids, baby and toddler could roam around the room with no problems of sharp edges or other dangers. Bed was super comfortable and warm. Hot water also very luxurious!! There is a beautiful rooftop as well where you can see all of the city and enjoy a drink, it’s also safe for kids. The staff were extremely polite and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They are very kind and trustworthy, the hotel is owned by a Tibetan family who were very hospitable to us and sweet to the kids. Very clean very comfortable stay I am very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a great stay in Kathmandu!!!

You are not able to sleep in this hotel because of guest who are partying all night in hotel rooms with doors open and no consideration of other guests. If you talk to the reception staff and ask to stop the noise maker they don‘t care. You pay a lot for a room and can‘t sleep. There is always noise of so many rooms and staircase. I can only recommend this hotel to people who want to party or want to be all night up. There are also two ventilation windows in the room which you can’t close. Therefore you have also the noise from outside. There is also so much noise from moving chairs and clap the doors in the hotel rooms. The noise never stops. It is all night going on. Further the TV has to less wifi signal. If you watch Netflix, there is always interruption during the movie for download. You can’t watch. You have a kitchen in the suite, but no pan or other kitchen utensils. A lot of things aren't really cleaned. There are lots of stains on doors, floors, etc. and also hairs from other peoples in the bed. There is alyo no buffet breakfast available, only menu and you have to order. We stayed 5 nights here. It was the worst hotel stay for us, we ever had.
