"It was a relaxing weekend but not exceptional and I would have expected a little more for the price."

5.0

Room was huge and I was at the back away from the road so was very quiet. There were tea/coffee making’s in the room and it was very clean though tired looking. Staff on arrival very helpful as they had an event meaning we had to move our motorcycles from the front car park and we were allowed to park on patio. We ate and made use of Colin Nash restaurant and bar which is attached to but separate from the hotel. The staff there were great and food good . Location is ideal to get to Beaulieu/Sammy Millers, coast and New Forest.

Self book in but the codes and information didn’t arrive on my phone until after I arrived so if staff hadn’t been in reception I wouldn’t have been able to get in. A bit tired meaning the room doors didn’t close without being slammed (in spite of notices asking for quiet ) the wardrobe door didn’t close without being forced. The Carol Nash restaurant/bar closes at 4pm on a Sunday.

Location for vehicle museums

Hotel closed 4pm Sunday, none on sight, resturant also closed. Busy noisy main road, very few facilities on site.

Hotel unknown to us just found on.line. lovely rooms very helpful friendly staff. Also we were lucky that our stay coincided with a craft fair at the venue which was a nice suprise. Excellent food at reasonable price will definitely stay there again.

"Very run-down ☹️"

4.0

The grounds were nice, especially if you have a dog. It's on a very busy, fast road, so the noise is loud, and you need a car to get to places.

The place needs a damn good refurb. It's very tired-looking and needs substantial money put into it. It had a lot of blown windows (restaurant side)... Paintwork inside and out was terrible. Window sills and woodwork were rotten. The cleanliness of the room was bad... It had a lot of hair from previous customers on the chairs and the bed. Dust, I don't think they've ever been dusted. It was thick! The bathroom paint was falling off the ceiling and walls. Need to damn good paint, refresh. The hand towel had a brown stain on it. The restaurant, I guess, the manager looked in an absolute state... Oversized shirt hanging out, looking very unclean. His customer service was shocking and wasn't very welcoming at all, and made me feel a little uncomfortable if I'm honest. I minus two things from my all-day breakfast and ask for an extra piece of bacon in its place, yet without the two eggs, all the black pudding he charged me for the extra bacon! On the outside, it looks lovely at first sight, but when you actually look at it properly, you realise how run-down this place is. If they put more time and money into making it top-notch, it would be a beautiful place, but at the moment, it's a rundown place.

"Perfectly situated and a beautiful setting, but needs some attention."

6.0

The cottage is beautiful - private, very quaint and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and towels and bedding were clean and fluffy.

The bathroom was the one thing that really let the property down. It needs some remedial work to the walls (peeling paint and a lot of spot marks), the windows are very rusty and mouldy, the privacy stickers are peeling off, there was a very strong smell of damp and an absolutely filthy toilet brush that needs replacing ASAP.
