Beautiful room number 4 Nice and clean maid service came and made my bed and gave a clean bath may even though I was only there for 2 nights .

The restaurant Colin Nash although it bases itself on fresh produce it serves orange juice for breakfast out of a carton . Unfortunately I had to turn my breakfast back . Had a 10.30 reservation when I arrived there was nobody in the restaurant. I was seated and then a member of staff came back 10 min later to take order . I ordered eggs on toast fried soft but not snotty a flat white coffee and a glass or carton juice as no fresh . 30 min later it arrived how it takes 30 min to cook two eggs on a slice and a half of cold toast I don't know. The bread was not handcut ,snotty eggs and marg on toast not butter 😤 Maybe my expectations were too high but I was pleased it was only breakfast and not dinner as I was dining with friends who live in area . I was unable to eat it so I turned it back ,very apologetic staff she said she did request not snotty . Would stay at the retreat again as I loved it ,yhe cocktails in he Nash Bar were also amazing.

Phone and WiFi reception was poor in the room I stayed in.

Fantastic place to stay if you want to get away from the corporate hotels and support local businesses. Simple check in and check out using key code emailed to you. Great rooms in lovely old building. GREAT price!! - This is my GOTO in the area.
