Oase by 7 Star Lodges - Greater Kruger Private 530ha Reserve

We loved Jacques' reception, and the entire sensorial experience with the ambient perfume, the music, the comfort of the bed both in the external and internal areas. Amazing!

The room interior was lovely

There was no lodge or common area and we stayed in our room for the duration of our stay. There is only the lavender bistro which is a small deck where meals were served. No bar/ pool etc. We didn’t use the indoor cinema as this isn’t an activity we wanted to do in the bush. The starlit arena, although heavily marketed, was not available to us for meals/ dinners. Picnics were not offered to us either due to the high temps in the day. Solar restricts aircon temp to 24 degrees and on 38 degree days our room was 34 degrees which was uncomfortable. There aren’t any activities as advertised on the site. Restricted to walking with a guide and we had 1 game drives in the 2 days at another farm. It’s not the experience advertised on the website.

Food

I didn’t like that our needs were not attended, our tv was not working and we reported it but nothing was done, the 5 stars that we were supposed to be getting we didn’t receive it and it was so disappointing, to get the things that’s they promised we had-to fight for it until until the owner come, the 2 game drive that was promised , cinema, cooking classes that were promised was not done, only 1 game drive was done after we have complained about it, not even the manager did assist us, all he said was I will call the owner, it was one of the bad vacation I ever had an I would never recommend it to anyone

The hospitality, beautiful suite, food

Nothing

The staff was very friendly. Njabulo and Roman went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The location is perfect. Privacy is fantastic. The picnic by the river is to die for. The fishing was lovely, even if the fish refused to be caught :-).

After-hours check needs a bit more attention. It took us longer than necessary to access the property, despite having notified the property of our exact arrival time and arriving at that time. Our names were not properly communicated to security, which required verification while we waited. After 6 hours of driving, it can be a bit annoying. The owner could be a bit friendlier to guests when he comes across them. A simple greeting will suffice, especially when you are keeping people waiting due to a technical fault which could have been avoided if proactive measures had been taken. Nobody expects the owner to go out of his way to be friendly. However, he should model the behaviour expected of his staff members. The bicycles are due for professional service. Their condition detracts from what should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. None of this takes away from the fact that we had a wonderful time. Minor adjustments will go a long way to making the resort a first among equals.

The staff was amazing, especially Njabulo and fanni. I gained so much weight during my stay . We were well fed and our room was just amazing
