Carole Motel

From downtown Savannah it was remote (3 miles), not close to the festivities. But then it was quiet and not hectic. It was not close to any amenities (e.g. Mc Donald's, Starbucks) so breakfast was abandoned. There is a Sunoco nearby with a food mart. Public transit was available but not easy to access. Uber worked for me. Ride to downtown about $8 (during non parade times and $18 during parade weekend) . A good way to do the St. Patrick's day weekend without breaking the bank.

No dislikes here. I will do this site again if I pass that way. This place worked for me because I am an adventurer and will try everything. Buses, trains, hostels, yurts, tents etc.

The room seemed clean but the smell was awful. Bed sheets were stinky. Overpriced for that quality. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Very convenient to downtown. Cute little room. All necessary items included.

The drain in the shower backed up and had a very slow drain. The TV was static no matter what I did. The lighting situation is very strange. The room could use a lamp instead of just glaring overhead lights.

Refrigerator didn't work. No water pressure to get a shower. Had to work on toilet to get it to flush. No staff on premises. Had to get key card rescanned later in day to be able to get in room at a store about a half mile up the road.

The room i stayed in was literally falling apart. The popcorn ceiling was peeling in the bathroom bathroom sink was not attached to it's base or the wall. I had to birdbath in the sink because there was no hot water in the shower. Window unit was ridiculously loud. And the tv was broken. Overall, my stay at the carole motel was absolutely horribly disappointing.

Price was cheap so I was not expecting much. However, reason why it is so cheap is because: no staff facility, you need to pick up the key about 3 min driving distance or 20 min walking distance from the motel. Train going by next to the motel all throughout the day and night. I woke up many timea during the middle of the night because of the noise. One towel, no dryer. No power next to the bed. If you are okay with these conditions, this would not be too bad for you. For me, it was okay other than the train noise and no hair dryer.
