Eighteen21 Houses - Quinta Velha

De Quinta heeft een mooi terrein van 2 hectare en een zwembad. De ligging is mooi en naar het centrum van Sintra is het 15-20 minuten lopen. Bij het ontbijt is er een ruime keuze, verse fruitsalade en vers gebakken gebak. De eieren worden naar keuze bereid. De gastvrouw was vriendelijk en gaf goede tips voor bezienswaardigheden en restaurants.

The location was excellent.

The room was a little small.

Comfortable, nice position, away from the crowds. Walking to all the main sites. Csrina is friendly, the breakfast cook was nice too. If walking, start at Pena Palace. Go up to the top and turn left. Takes 15 mins, then another 10 mins from the bottom gate to the actual palace. They say it takes double that time, but it doesn't. Then go back through Pena Gardens to gate area, and walk up a little way to Monostery. From here you walk down to the city centre. Have lunch, then go to Sintra Palace, then to Quinta Regalia. After exiting go back up to the entrance, walk past and a little further along is a little pathway. It has a street name on it, but google maps shows it as a dead end. Take this path back to the accommodation. The exit is on the left where there are a couple of steps to hop over. Maps will show you're close to the house. Enjoy 😉

Our room was on the small side, but as we could use the lounge and the dining area (after a day out we preferred to stay in with a charcuterie style platter for dinner), it gave us the extra space to relax. Of course, we cleaned up after ourselves ... as we really appreciated being allowed to use the area. The drive in was difficult, as police block the entry, as only locals are allowed, so we missed it, since it's not easy to see all the turn-offs on google (until you pass them), and as it's all one-way, we had to do a loop around again, with people walking everywhere, which is sooo slow, then show our booking to the officer, to be allowed through.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut, auch sonst der Service aber wir hatten ein extrem kleines Zimmer.

Zu kleines Zimmer, Balkon vorhanden aber man konnte nicht darauf sitzen.

We loved staying here. Beautiful surroundings, great location, breakfast was great and the pool was hreat. But Armie was amazing. She greeted us with her warm big smile and a piece of her delicious cake. She was always so sweet and happy! She really made the stay better than we imagined!

The property host Armie was very kind and hospitable. The heated pool was very nice and the rooms are clean. We had delicious breakfast too. The house is very homely and relaxing.

Llegar con el coche fue complicado

Nestled in the mountains, this gorgeous property feels both secluded and deeply inspiring. From the moment we arrived, we were met with such warmth and care. The staff are truly wonderful, attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure every detail is taken care of. Any issue was handled thoughtfully and with real heart. We felt completely at home, and a special thank you to Armie for her exceptional hospitality. We already can’t wait to return, hopefully for a much longer stay next time. Thank you for such a memorable experience.
