Darsena Apartments by Wonderful Italy

The apartment is centrally located and the company who manages it is very responsive over whatsapp. Mattresses are comfortable and the rooms are large. Easy and free to park nearby. The town itself and area itself is great.

Surprise check in fee of €20 for arriving after 8pm. The aparment is extremely noisy. There is loud music from the bars below, and a lot of traffic sound with no double glazing. The building is very old and it is not well maintained. There is also a smell of fried food coming into the apartment from the restaurants below. Apartment is not well taken care of and the details that make these stays nicer aren't there. For example some things are broken and the kitchen is not well equipped...no spatula to even flip an egg, dirty pans, no microwave. No small things to welcome guests like shampoo, coffee, sugar. If looking for just a place to sleep it's OK, but in all I believe there are better places to stay in Syracuse.

The location of the property is perfect.

The property is very noisy. Noise is heard from all apertures of the apartment, even with people speaking under the balcony which is heard very clear from the apartment. There is zero sound insulation especially in the bedroom.

Location of the apartment is absolutly perfect. At the entry to Ortigia, restaurants and groceries nearby.

photos showing the apartment are a mix of few apartments so you never know which one are you renting. I though I am renting the apartment with this splendid roof but received with a tarasse from the inside of the building.

The location was fantastic and the staff really helpful and proactive with our booking/check-in arrangements, especially with our circulation and parking permit in the historic centre. The apartment was spacious and the rooms tastefully decorated.

The mattress was among the worst I have slept on in my life, and I have slept on really terrible ones. The area is particularly noisy and although the windows are double, the window cases are old wood and do nothing to keep the noise out. The apartment was very clean on the surface, but no one had cleaned under the beds and other not-easy-to-clean parts in a long time. Kitchen equipment was there, but it would have been great to also have a few basics (salt, pepper, olive oil...)
