Island View Guesthouse

Nice clean place to stay . Lovely views from the bar area . Marshall the owner cooked us a delicious evening meal from scratch . Very friendly people . We enjoyed the honor bar and pool area . We only stayed one night but would return . The rooms were large and comfortable . Good AC .

Island View has a great view and we had a nice, clean room with a comfy bed, cooling heat pump, microwave and fridge. Great space to sit near the pool, too. Not so good: no bath soap (only smelly hand soap), no glasses, no way to bring ice to your room except in a small glass from the self-serve bar, stones in floor of shower are loose and gather in the drain, no restaurant (we learned on arrival that it had closed), and a skimpy breakfast of two small slices of watermelon, two small sausages and two waffles. In short, it’s not nearly as good as when we stayed here a few years ago.

Husband and I had a very nice visit. We liked that it was small and private-feeling. We think you really need to rent a car to stay here; taking cabs would (probably - we didn't do it!) be so onerous and limiting. Our room was great and just like the pictures. We loved the balcony and appreciated the A/C and mini-kitchen.

The girl that was supposed to check us in did not care at all. She didn’t answer our questions. There was no food on site and the water machine didn’t work. So we were unable to get water. We had an early flight but nobody was onsite to help us. We had someone banging on our door in the middle of the night claiming they locked themselves out of the room. We have no idea if that was legitimate. Also what could we do? There was nobody onsite. Scary. Poor service at best. We will never come back.

The best spot on island! Marshall and Libby are the best hosts. I’m so finicky when it comes to food. When I made the reservation, I added special request, and told them I only eat chicken and shrimp. Not only they made it possible, it was the best meal of my life! They were so low key and super nice. I can’t wait y’all to go enjoy your experience! They are seriously the best, you can’t ask for anymore! Also the drinks were the best! Thank you Marshall and Libby for making it possible! This is the best restaurant on island!

Stayed here for a 4 night stay and truly enjoyed this quaint, quiet gem up the mountain. We dined at the on-site restaurant our first night and that was an incredible experience all it's own. All of the staff, from Eileen the manager, to the owner's Libby and Marshall, were extremely friendly and made our stay very pleasant. Free breakfast is offered every morning on the open air terrace and is a great way to start each morning with incredible views. Our room was small but cozy (Room #4), would definitely stay here again but would opt for a larger room with a more unobstructed view of the bay, but this is just a minor inconvenience and we enjoyed our stay all the same. Parking can be a bit tricky so us having a small economy car as a rental was helpful to maneuver around the small space provided for cars. Highly recommend this place to stay when visiting the island!
