Island View Guesthouse

Fantastic view and food.

The pros: The pool is lovely and quiet. There is a nice little area to grab a beer or a drink after a long day that works on an honor system. Eileen, the hostess/receptionist, is very kind. Plenty of clean towels provided and the housekeeping was adequate. The cons: The room that we stayed in was stark and cold with limited room for luggage and seating. We had 4 suitcases but there was only one small luggage rack and no furniture with any drawers so we had to use the only two chairs in the room as luggage racks. As far as the neighborhood, there is nowhere to walk to from here. The hotel is located up a long, steep driveway and is a few miles from stores and restaurants. There is a road below the hotel where there is constant honking of horns as the cars drive by and lots of roosters crowing day and night. We could hear our neighbor's conversations, sneezes, coughs, snoring through the walls, so that was a big turnoff for us. Not a bad place, but we would not go back mainly due to the room feeling cold and uninviting.

It was a lovely room overlooking the harbor. Sitting on the balcony was great as we at dinner. There was a fridge and microwave, but no dishes to use. Some plates and silverware would have been nice.

My daughter and I stayed at this property nestled on Crown Mountain last week. It felt so homey and more like a bed and breakfast with the care that they put into the intimate details and personal touches. The common open area (which also serves as the dining area) was a vibe - from the ecclectic decor and books to the music choices, and the views of St. Thomas were breathtaking. Libby and Marshall were great, and Eileen (of their staff), was such a sweetheart. She went over and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. Our room was very spacious, clean and charming. The restaurant had great food as well. Be warned, that there are lots of stairs on the property, so it may not be optimal for those who have accessibility issues, but overall, I'd highly recommend this place. I will definitely stay there again.

The Island View Guesthouse is in an amazing location to watch the sunrise, sunset and all the happenings in Charlotte Amalie harbor. Libby, Marshal and the rest of the staff were very attentive and helpful. We’d highly recommend staying here.

This is a lovely family run hotel in the hills above the town with fantastic views across the island. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the pool and the iguanas in the nearby treetops. Breakfast was great and the honesty bar was well stocked. Thank you to Eileen for running us in to town and to the airport, very kind of you. We would love to return and have no hesitation in recommending this little gem of a hotel in beautiful surroundings.

Everything was amazing including the staff. Well worth the daycation. Definitely will recommend and book again.

Very nice and clean

Lovely little boutique resort. This hidden gem offers personalized service above that of a 5 star hotel. Something you notice upon arrival. The hosts are also the owners, and have put together the subtleties of home in a charming atmosphere overlooking St Thomas Harbor and Crown Bay. On the dining level you can relax with an open bar cocktail and play Chinese Checkers or read one of the many books, from 1 of many book caches located throughout the resort. Dinner in the open Caribbean air is enchanting, and the menu choices were delicious. Breakfast is complementary. The rooms are well kept; each having its own unique character. Each offering a microwave, refrigerator and smart tv. Comfortable beds are made daily with quality linens and quilted bedspreads. Probably not the best place for wheelchair mobility but you can get around with limited mobility. Whether you’ve come to stay or just for dinner, you will always remember this place.
