The Lodge at Cloudcroft

Didn’t even get to stay at the hotel for starters and when we tried to check in the front desk lady was very rude and tried to blame us for the inconvenience when nowhere on the website did it state their policy of having to be 21 and over to stay at this hotel. Bad service overall I would not recommend. Very hostile environment.

A time stamp in history that offers beautiful views and a cozy place to get away. Clean and the staff are friendly and informative. The restaurant is amazing.

The staff was very helpful, pleasant and cordial. No issues with anything relating to the hotel itself. We dined at Rebecca's Restaurant in the hotel. Staff was cordial but food service was very slow. It took approximately 1 hour from the time we placed our order till the main course was served. That aside, we would stay at this property again in the future.

Beautiful hotel with so much character. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The only disadvantage was the the look and spa were closed for maintenance.

I got the impression that I would have gotten a room on the 2nd floor instead of the top floor if I would have made my reservation directly with the facility rather than having gone through a 3rd party. With no elevator. and no help carrying luggage, it was a challenge to get up to my room. I should have read the small print ahead of time.

It's a cute and charming property, very clean and quiet. Lobby and common areas were enjoyable, including being able to play chess and take books on loan to read during your stay. The Premium Room we booked was nice...comfy bed, microwave, mini fridge, and upgraded bathroom. The bathroom flooring is supposed to be heated, though we could not get it to work with the thermostat. Maybe it's turned off for the season, but would've liked to have used it regardless. We were on the first floor and since it is a historical property, we could hear the guests upstairs walking around on the creaky floors. The most disappointing part of our stay was when we went to the lounge, about 30 minutes before closing, for a drink. One of the bartenders was clearly in a bad mood and shamed one of our drink orders. Mixed drinks were overpriced for the quality, but maybe that's because the bartender didn't want to make them to begin with. Overall, the property is interesting, well maintained, has a lot of history, and it was nice for a one-time stay. You can request a key to go up to the tower, which is cool.
