Gary the site Manager is exceptional. Nothing is too much of an ask. We arrived and had a few issues, Gary sorted it quickly and promptly offering us a late check out for our mishaps. However we had to actually leave through the night due to a family emergency. Again Gary offered us support and guidance. He's a credit to the place. The pub staff are lovely too. Really smiley and happy.

Everything the staff was supposed to come fix the problems never turned up then bed was broken the kitchen tap hanging off and tvs didnt work the staff didnt care we stayed in March 2026 never again you felt every spring in the bed the sofa was damaged it was supposed to be a relaxing weekend away and it was far from it best part of the trip was going home

The hot tub was good.

The bed was very uncomfortable. I had to use the other duvets in the property as mattress toppers as the springs very very uncomfortable.

The lodge was nice, had everything we needed. A really quiet location, very remote! Which is what we wanted. I did my research before booking, so I knew what to expect. Take everything you need with you food, drink etc Hot tub was clean and well maintained apart from the lid, (needed a new one)

There could be a few more facilities on site, a little shop would be good to get the essentials, due to it being very remote the nearest shop is a 25min drive away. Maybe a bigger park for kids. Even though its not really a place for children it would be good to have. The pub is lovely, it does a basic menu, small play area that needs a bit of maintenance, but it wasn't open as the times stated on the website and one day it didn't open at all. The road down to the retreat is very bumpy so if you have a low car then go slow. I went 15-20mph and mines not low.

The location was really good

The staff didn’t care, At the first night they give us a wrong lodge and we wasted one night in lodge without hot tub and on the second night they change my lodge I just seat on the bed and the bed broke and Im not that heavy just 68 kilo, I had called emergency line for 20 times and nobody answered and next day I managed to talk to someone and they told me they will deal with it and nobody came. Also they didn’t bother to come and clean the hot tub for us . Nobody was at reception all the time to help you. I came back one night before that I suppose to come back as I didn’t wanted to sleep on the floor again and deal with the hot tub. I really dont recommend this accommodation at all.

The quiet surroundings, the hot tub, closeness to Lincoln

The mattress in the main bedroom was good, the one in the spare bedroom not so much.
