Hideaway by Liv Retreats

We got there and the hot tub was freezing.after asking staff we were given the wrong lodge number. New lodge hot tub was hot. Fridge broken, holes in the door. Lots of bird poo on the hot tub lid. Jets in the hot tub poor. Felt every spring in the matresses. Unable to shower because it was either scolding hot or freezing cold. Attempted a good temperature for over 20mins. WiFi did not work at all and needed it for TV to work. Had to use own data/hot spots! The road into the lodges as its out in sticks, one road in abd out, was awful bumpy and dangerous. Told staff about issues for nothing to actually be done! Won't be returning!

The quietness

Loved the location. Blissfully quiet. Just what we wanted!! So pretty too!!

Upon arrival to the lodge, we could see how crammed together they were...lots of lodges, which when you want to get away from people....and life... its not ideal...and NOT what the picture told. The picture looked like it was one of afew and well spaced. Also pictured was the hot tub overlooking a huge beautiful farmers field. Our view was of other lodges all around. We literally came for the view and the peace!! Also stated a fireplace...nope. Coffee maker ...nope. The hot tub looked dated, cover old and ripped everywhere. Door lock broken and pretty much hanging off, could not lock from outside, so not secure when you leave. Bit of a funky smell when we walked in. Kitchen mixer tap was broken. Fridge shelf was broken in door nearly smashed my fizz! 😲 Kitchen was equipped...but minimal, basic, needed an update. Stated also there would be toiletries. Only 1 teeny tiny half full bottle of washing up liquid and 1 toilet roll. For 4 of us for 4 days. No soap, hand-wash, nothing. The twin room consists of two toddler size beds...my daughters 11 and 14...the oldest being nearly 6ft...were horrified and just didn't fit. Could feel all the springs too. Mattresses and sheets were covered in dog hair. Double room bed pretty comfy. Tiny space very cramped. Mattress COVERED in yellow stains, dog hair and dirt/dander..🤢🤢🤢🤢...dog poop outside our lodge. These lodges COULD be so nice if a little effort was put in!! Don't bother with the restaurant on site...much the same, not clean, my meal of hunters chicken was ok...but my daughters meal of Thai green curry was microwave packet rice and sandwich chicken in sauce!! 🤣🤣 chips were potatoes...like homemade chips. I know some people love homemade chips but im not one of them!! Super disappointed as the pictures on line looked lovely...we were due to leave Monday, but left on the Sunday. Very disappointing sadly.

Nice location

Beds were very uncomfortable. Left 1 night early they was that bad When we first arrive had to clean basics, stunk like a cafe. Walls very dirty Had to go out and buy candles and wipes to get rid of smell.

All the staff were very helpful friendly

Overall the lodge was lovely however it could do with new mattresses as they were dreadful and maybe a lick of paint around the hot tub area
