We were in lodges 28/29 and there was a dirty great big puddle of eggy smelling water all the way up the ramp. We went to celebrate our nieces 40th birthday but this didn’t happen as the family memeber in no 29 went home on Saturday as the smell of raw sewage in there lodge was horrendous

The lodge has great potential and could be a wonderful place to stay; however, the lack of cleanliness significantly affected our comfort. Unfortunately, the overall hygiene standards were below expectations. There were not enough cutlery and plates provided for five people. We were also missing basic items such as towels (only one was provided for the entire weekend) and paper towels to wipe or dry dishes. Although the lodge is nicely designed, it is clear that the interior is not well maintained. There were no doormats at the entrance, which meant that mud was constantly brought inside, especially during rainy weather. At one point, I had to use our dog’s towels to prevent further dirt from being tracked into the house. The beds were uncomfortable, as all the springs could be felt. One of the beds was severely sunken, causing my partner to sleep in what felt like a “hole.” The bathrooms were acceptable, but the floor cleanliness could have been improved. Additionally, it was very difficult to regulate the hot water in the showers in both bathrooms. If cleanliness had been properly taken care of, the overall rating would have been much higher. However, it seems that this place is more oriented toward a party-focused clientele rather than families seeking relaxation. One night there was loud noise from a nearby lodge, although it did quiet down relatively quickly. On a positive note, the towels and bed linen were clean and fresh, which was greatly appreciated. The house was warm, and the jacuzzi water was properly heated. The host was also very kind and welcoming during check-in.

We’re do I start! Well the hot tub didn’t work wasn’t hot at all so we didn’t get to use that (This is what you pay premium prices for) there was even panels missing off the hot to that could of been a fire risk or even getting electrocuted! The place wasn’t the cleanest at all the dishwasher still had left over food in the bottom stuff was hanging off the wall and holes in the wall, radiators all rusty and dirty couldn’t walk round barefoot the floor felt dirty and the bed was awful springs in your back didn’t sleep well all weekend. The bathroom window didn’t even have a blind on it so there was no privacy while you use the toilet We did reach out to Gary about the hot tub but nothing was resolved we went back later after a trip out to find it was exactly the same as before. It was our first weekend in a long time together without the kids and it was the worst. I will definitely not be returning here and or recommending it’s nothing like the pictures and what the advert says such a shame! We did message booking.com about our problems and they reached out to the company and they wasn’t interested. Please guys be aware this isn’t what it looks like!
