White Cliffs Underground Motel

Interesting place, visited during the off season so very quiet. Sleeping in a dug out room was different. Lovely staff.

It was an incredible experience to stay in an underground motel but the place is in desperate need of a lot of money being spent on it

It doesn’t look like any money has been spent on the place since it’s opening in 1989. Also the pool that is shown in photos on the net(which I might add I was looking forward to getting into when arriving after a big day on my motorcycle) has been filled in with dirt. Apparently it had a leak and the owner didn’t want to spend the money to repair it or basically just couldn’t afford it. This is not exclusive to this motel we experienced this throughout the outback with other accommodation. More people need to get out and stay at these places so the owners can afford to spend money on them otherwise they will eventually close down

It’s uniqueness

Friendly staff and interesting experience being underground. Excellent location.

The attraction is, of course, that the rooms are underground. The motel is interesting because of its unique nature. The temperature is nice and cool (without the need for air-conditioning) and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Clean and comfortable

Continental breakfast included but packed up by 9 am. Fortunately gentleman working in reception agreed to provide some raisin toast etc
