Emerald Best Motel

The property was clean and quiet. We asked for additional pillows and towels, they were just so genuinely nice. It made our stay that much better. I would definitely recommend this property and would book here again

NOTHING !

Not at all what was advertised — extremely disappointing The photos online were completely misleading. What we pulled up to looked nothing like the pictures. While the desk clerk was polite and allowed us to check in early, that was the only positive part of our experience. We were assigned Room 29, which didn’t even have a number on the door. The moment we walked in, we were hit with a foul, indescribable odor — it felt like something had happened in that room and they were trying to cover it up. The bed had a sleeping bag thrown over it as a bedspread, and within minutes of stepping inside, I was bitten by something. That was enough for us — we left immediately. The room wasn’t even in the main two-story section of the motel; it was tucked away in an area that looked like it was under construction. The entire property felt neglected and unsafe. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my truck in the parking lot, let alone staying overnight. This felt like outright fraud. The photos posted online do not reflect the reality of this place. I regret not taking pictures to document it, but we were too eager to get out of there. I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

It vexes me to leave negative reviews. In fact, I thought about it and waited almost a week before I came to the conclusion that I needed to provide honest feedback. I came for a one-night stay, and usually choose budget-friendly motels without much problem. I was offered (and chose) a second-floor room. As soon as I entered, my eyes, nose, and throat immediately began to sting due to some kind of very strong cleaning agent (I assume) causing fumes. I thought about asking for a different room but thought I might just run into the same issue if it was indeed a cleaning agent. I immediately opened the door and windows and turned on the fan. The smell emitting from the fan was pretty horrid in itself. I elected to go ahead and spend the night, but felt like I couldn't leave windows or the door open for long, as there were people smoking right outside of their rooms (ashtrays were sitting on top of the A/C units outside of the rooms). The queen bed wasn't actually too uncomfortable for a cot-type style, but there were only two very thin pillows available. When I came home, I had to wash my clothes as the strong smell had permeated everything. Upon checkout, I was not asked how my stay was, nor did I offer up to share my experience at the time. I would definitely not recommend this hotel, even though I think they are trying to make improvements (they were working on painting the outside when I arrived ). Thank you for hearing me out.

Staff was friendly and accommodating

We asked to be moved to a different room as there was no shade on one of the windows, dirt on the bathroom floor and toilet seat. We were moved to a different room that had a small kitchenette, but no mirror. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. We decided to stay in a different hotel the second night.

The guy at the front desk was really nice and helpful.

The dish I wanted to use was dirty and the only soap available was face/hand bar soap in the kitchen. There 2 small shampoo packets available that didn't offer enough shampoo to get my whole scalp clean (i have thick hair), I tried to mix enough water with it to get it to cover my head, but it didn't work out. I ended up having to use a bar of soap to clean my hair/scalp. No conditioner. The bed was the hardest bed I have ever slept on and didn't offer much comfort for me, I woke up sore and stiff. The idea of the place was nice, but I wouldn't return for a second stay. No elevator either, I had to haul all my stuff up the stairs, but I managed. I suppose you get what you pay for, cause it was the least expensive place available - so I guess it is what it is.

Nice & clean room, courteous staff. Convenient location and easy parking.

Room smelled funky. The room featured a kitchenette, but were lacking in kitchenware to use with it. The lock on my door seemed damaged, as if someone tried to break into it in the past.

The location just north of Seattle was very convenient. While the property is older, the owners have put a great deal of effort and investment into updating the facilities inside and out. The bedding and sheets were brightly colored and brand new. The painting was fresh inside and out. The floors were also new. Even the parking lot was freshly paved and painted.

We liked everything.
