Contemporary Caravan at Newquay Holiday Park

The location was fine.

The caravan is old and needs some repairs. The main couch front panel is broken. The kettle leaks badly and despite phoning the maintenance number to report it, nothing was done. The main bedroom mattress could do with being replaced, it is hard and not comfortable. The small toilet window doesn't close properly so there is a draft through it. The floor vent in the small toilet is broken. Also, the advert for the caravan mentions the heated swimming pools but DOESN'T say that you have to pay extra to use them. The Park only sells a 6 day pass to the pools, not a day pass. So that could be a waste of money if you don't utilise all 6 days.

We had all the essentials we needed.

Everything you needed was there, iron, hair dryer, oven, air fryer - simply it was very well thought out to accommodate a family. The owner was extremely informative, everything was sent prior with clear, concise instructions, friendly and great communication.

The check in time states 3pm, we arrived promptly to be greeted with the cleaner, she was quite rude and advised abruptly check in is at 4pm with quote “check in is at 4, anyway I can’t get the electric to work so I don’t event know what time”, we decided to go shopping but it left a very unpleasant feeling that we had travelled to a caravan that has no electric. Thankfully we arrived at 4pm and all was ok for us to gain access. Other than that, this is a great caravan with great communication and amenities - just try to avoid the grumpy cleaner.

We return to this site every year. Beautiful location, plenty of activities to do for kids, showbar, live singing, arcades, 3 heated swimming pools with slide. 15 min drive to Fistral beach.

I wish I read reviews. Toaster not working, microwave very dirty, air fryer filthy, all glasses dirty, freezer had left over food from previous tenants, ice cram defrosted and smelled. No electric on arrival. Woman not helpful. Told me it is the site’s issue. After 3h wait Turned out the switch was off in the electric box outside to which we couldn’t get to. A neighbour opened the box for us. And if that wasn’t enough, the shower was completely clogged. Only my husband had a shower until he realised the water wasn’t going down the drain. Family 2+3. The owner seemed fine. I have sent him all photos how dirty it was. I requested a partial refund as too many things were wrong. Received £40. I know it’s not the owners fault but cleaning company, however, previous reviews state same problems. We were very dissatisfied especially that we could not take a shower. I had to clean instead of having of a break. Will not be returning and made note of the caravan. We paid for 3 nights £615. So working kitchen appliances and shower were expecting to work.

I liked everything about the caravan. I liked it it was located within a few minutes away from local attractions such as Lappa valley, Camel creek family adventure parks, Newquay beaches such as Fistral Beach. Surprisingly it was more spacious than I thought it would be. I liked that it was located in a holiday park and got to do activities within the park. I enjoyed that the caravan had a furnished kitchen, where I was able to prepare meals. I didn’t even realise that the caravan had a travel cot. I actually brought my own travel cot for my son. Furthermore the caravan is located in a quiet area of the park, which is always a bonus.

The only thing I can fault is that the microwave was filthy. No problem, I cleaned it. The rest of the caravan was clean and tidy. At one point the central heating stopped working and when I contacted the number I was given to reach out to. I didn’t receive a call back. The central heating somehow came back on or started working again.
