Kera Houseboats Alleppey

We took a two night trip with Kera and were fortunate to have no one else on our two bedroom boat for the trip. Highly recommend two nights if you can, the second morning was the best part, instead of being checked out and off the boat by 9am we had a slow breakfast and a delightfully tranquil cruise with hardly any other boats around. Food was exceptionally good and the staff were charming. Loved the extra cruise option (at a price) on a local villagers small boat down the smaller canals in the afternoon of our second day.

The first nights mooring point faced a building site, not particularly scenic. The bathroom floors/corners needed a good clean. We were given refills in our waterbottles from the kitchen for day one but then they stopped and gave us sealed plastic bottles for day two despite stopping for refills of pure water. Given their supposed anti plastic stance this was a shame.

It was really nice!!! We were on the waters during the day and in the next morning. Good food and really friendly and helpful staff, and facilities were also good! Nice that there was an open deck at the back of the boat where you could sunbathe, I saw that other boats were more covered.

We had an excellent experience! The chef was amazing, he was friendly and he has prepared the best prawns we've ever had :) All together the staff were amazing, paid attention to all details and made sure that we had a wonderful stay!

Although we understand the reasons behind the decision, We would've loved to be on the river during the night as well.

The houseboat was great and the staff all super helpful.

The only problem was paying by card. It was stated that we could pay by Visa/Mastercard but when it came to paying it didn't work - international card payments were disabled. They called their bank and they were told it would take over a week to change. The manager kindly drove us to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash out. Luckily there were no ATM fees or conversion mark ups on my cash withdrawals. So all was fine in the end. They were very helpful in this situation.

We had an amazing stay on our houseboat. The care and attentiveness of the staff was excellent and the food was varied and delicious. We enjoyed the excursion in a smaller boat that was booked for us and the incredible views of the backwaters. The highlight of our trip.

My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights on the houseboat and we really enjoyed it. We had a nice room, the cruise through the backwaters was awesome (on the 2nd day also a different route through narrow passages) and the service of the boat crew was excellent. The food was very tasty and abundant. I can highly recommend the experience on this houseboat.
