Taishoya

We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s 77th birthday and my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. The hospitality was truly exceptional, and we felt so grateful we chose this ryokan for such a special occasion. The staff were all very kind and attentive, and the onsen was wonderful. The meals were also delicious. It became a very memorable and meaningful stay for our family.

Nothing in particular. Everything was wonderful.

Highlight of my trip. Beautiful hotel (even the age is part of the charm), great thermal baths, rooms to die for and the sister ryokan has the most amazing outdoor baths. The meals are a full on experience (bring a completely empty stomach), made even better with the help of the Staff (I don't remember the name of the young staff member who helped us, who spoke perfect English and even made sure to know how to say 'Bon apetit' in our language! She was incredibly nice and made it a 6* experience). Overall, it was great throught and I am only sad that I couldn't stay for a week.

Nothing to not like about it, unless you are completely unwilling to try Japanese traditional meals. If you find yourself crying like a baby without bread/cereal/yogurt for breakfast, this is not the place for you. Also, Kyushu in general may not be.

フロントから部屋まで迷路のようでなかなか目的地に行けませんでした。

The property is very well designed with nice restaurants. Food services is good and the staff is very friendly and cheerful.

Probably there is no open air onsen inside the property, however need to take bus or drive to the out door onsen to enjoy the facility!
