The location is amazing and it has so much potential. The history of the building gives it a great deal of character as well.

Poorly maintained and sub standard amenities. An update to the facilities is strongly recommended. Proper heating for winter time is essential especially if you have travelled from warmer climates and aren’t used to the cold weather. Better tv’s and access to more than just the ABC and SBS. The bathroom had hair on the floor and I needed to wash the dust out of the bath tub. I had hung the ‘please make up my room’ sign on the door but it wasn’t serviced at all during the stay even though the staff had entered the room to put in the tv remote that wasn’t there when I arrived the night before and another heater as the rooms were so cold. My wet towels were still on the floor so had to hang those over a chair in front of the heater so I could have dry towels for my next shower, Bed wasn’t made and tea bags and sugar had not been replaced. Thank goodness I had taken my own. The fire places in the common areas were fake and didn’t even give off one bit of heat. The ceiling in the bedroom had severe water damage and was falling apart and had signs of mould. All little things that could be easily attended to and make the stay more pleasant and comfortable. Very disappointing for a place that could be a gold mine and somewhere I would like to stay in again.

No history about this heritage listed property nothing about the use of the building from the 1930 to 90s...room was completely awful not what we saw on the site. We booked through booking.com. carpark way to small we had a trailer we asked can we fit or turn around? We're told yes that was a big fat no. The building smelt like wet dog and mould air ventilation units were disgusting covered in years worth of dirt and dust not healthy to breath in. Bed was terrible the coffee area in our room was dirty the set up was completely dodgy from word go. We booked the deluxe queen with a spa. The bathroom started off nice. Until we noticed a montion sensor high up in the corner facing the bath shower and toilet!!! Not meant to be any sensor of any kind in a bathroom that was completely uncomfortable. Further inspection of it turned out to be rather disturbing so we left we spent maybe 1 hour in total in that room and I can say we will never go back. Never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel where my personal privacy was at risk. This was no normal motion sensor....in all places in a bathroom? Why it was certainly watching our every move. There were no other motion sensors in this room apart from the bathroom. Now after examining and sending photos to experts they warned us that the device was highly suspicious and there shouldn't be anything tracking our movements in a private bathroom. So that's what sealed the deal to leave. We will taking this further. Check your rooms people! If it feels off dodgy it is!

Location is excellent, nice walking and restuarant and cafe close, away from town but if you've got a car, there is plenty of carparking and it's quiet.

It's old and tired, so expect that, but that is part of the charm and history of the place. It's not 5star, so don't expect that.

Room was cold. Was only a small electric heater which did not heat up the room. There was an air con system but didn’t seem to be reverse cycle- only cold air, there were no instructions on how to use. Television did not have any commercial stations -only SBS or ABC
