Kahere Retreat

Unique handcrafted cozy cottage with lovely friendly hosts. Nice setting out of town, quiet and peaceful. Cottage is well equipped for a short stage and beds were comfortable.

Stairs a bit steep (we had been made aware of this) and a bit cramped for 4 people.

The cabin was very clean. The builders put very lovely touches such as the fixtures and stained glass windows.

The property was cosy, comfortable and in a very peaceful location. It was the perfect retreat for a couple of days on our trip. The location was excellent, just a short drive from town.

We loved the setting ; beautiful gardens and so peaceful. The walk along the river from Kahere was lovely. Extremely comfortable bed ! Frankie the Labrador is a great asset being so friendly and welcoming.

The living area is quite small making eating inside in the rain quite challenging (I realise there is an outside area at the rear of the cabin but it wasn’t very clean to eat there) There should be more hooks / shelves eg for charging phones.

We LOVED our stay at Kahere Retreat! My sister and I stayed here for the night after walking the Copland Track, my only regret is not booking another night! The room we stayed in was so cosy and peaceful and the sauna and spa facilities were such a treat after our long walk over the two days prior. I'd love to come back and spend a bit longer.
