The owner was amazing, helped us with arranging activities around the island. He's very caring and a fantastic host who tried to ensure our stay was great. Location is convenient for getting to various spots. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone

The garden was nice. The owner was friendly and really helpful. You can rent scooters at the property for a fair price, they are in good conditions.

While the property Catar Cottage may have offered some basic amenities, our stay was unfortunately marred by several significant issues. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, leading to restless nights. Additionally, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. Dust accumulated in the corners, and the bathroom had the unsightly presence of spiders on the ceiling. The walls were also dirty, creating an overall unpleasant atmosphere. The towels were not clean and with holes and you will not get a change during your stay. One of the most concerning aspects was the lack of proper insulation around the front door. This allowed for gaps of approximately 5 cm on both sides, providing easy access for unwanted creatures like cockroaches. We encountered one during our stay, which was both disturbing and unsanitary. The high humidity levels in the room further contributed to the discomfort. The air conditioning unit seemed to struggle to effectively cool the room, providing minimal relief from the heat and humidity. The bathroom, lacking both a window and adequate ventilation, became particularly stuffy and unpleasant. Finally, the breakfast was rather basic, consisting of tea or coffee alongside a choice of fried or scrambled eggs. While it may have sufficed for some, it did not meet our expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Overall, our experience at Catar Cottage was disappointing. The combination of uncomfortable accommodations, cleanliness issues, and inadequate amenities made it difficult to recommend this property to others. Additionally you can forget the WiFi, it’s crazy slow, it was useless. Luckily we got the WiFi from the property/ restaurant next to ours.

The place is nice and clean

Nusa Penida should be avoided especially with kids. You can feel there is a mafia controlling the Island. The hotel is certainly part of it. As soon as you arrived, you are overwhelmed with proposition for tours and you don’t have the choice to actually choose what you want to do. Or you can, but price is twice what you should pay. When you are at the hotel, you have no choice, you can rent a scooter to be a bit independent, but if you have kids, you cannot do a thing without a driver sent by the hotel. And you don’t pay the driver, you pay the hotel. We tried to do our part own tour, but we have been imposed to do what they were selling. And if you don’t comply you can feel the pressure on your shoulders. Moreover, the roads are just a joke. They are so bumpy and damaged and totally not adequate for the current traffic. There is about one or 2 beaches you can actually access and the others are too dangerous to go down or two wavy for swimming. If you just want to post a photo on instagram, go there. If you actually want to live the real life, avoid this island.

Beautiful cottages with a lot of greenery. Breakfast is ok for the price.

The host charged us 150k per Motorbike day and most Helmets were broken. You can get a motorbike with helmets in better shape for half at other places.

The huts are located in a very beautiful little garden, the breakfast is served on your own balcony (scrambled eggs, toast, fruit, coffe or tea). Nyoman was a super friendly host who provided us with useful restaurant tips and was being very helpful with everything we needed. We also rented a scooter, which was brand new and definitely the best one we had on our trip. Although the cottages are located inland, it is only a short ride to the beachfront and harbour.
