Casa maar -Treetop tent

This place was unbelievable!!! By far the best place we stayed. Private access, amazing home cooked food and the view!!! Couldn't ask for much more. Big thanks to David and his family for making it so special.

This place is stunningly beautiful and the hospitality was even better! David was an incredible host and his father is an amazing cook. We could not have picked a better location to stop for our honeymoon.

This place is awesome. The owners live in a house on the property, and have only this one tented unit for guests. If this is a tent, it's the nicest glamping tent in Costa Rica!! The way the unit is situated, you feel alone with a private stunning view into the ancient, forested volcano and lake. It's a 180+ degree view and a great facility. Though you are only 50 yards from the owners home, you feel like you are alone in the rain forest. The room itself is beautiful. Big windows facing into the cone of the volcano, with the lake far below you. The bed and furnishings are very comfortable. The decor of the bathroom, shower and the rest of the unit is one-of-a-kind. You have full use of a really special covered jacuzzi. We enjoyed using the tub in the rain. Father and son, Carlos and David, run the operation. Super friendly and outgoing. David served a delicious full breakfast each morning to us, at our requested time, right on our outdoor deck overlooking the lake. Carlos prepares all meals. Upon request (at an added fair price) he will prepare a special dinner of your choice for you, which is served in a dining room tower-room by candlelight. We stayed here for 3 nights and could have stayed 3 more. There are various sights of interest in the area to occupy your free time during the day. Or just sit with music and a book and enjoy your view. This is a solid 10.

SO ROMANTIC. My fiancé and I needed a little alone time and this was the perfect environment for that. It’s secluded with a gorgeous view but also close enough to go to some local restaurants. The host brought the most beautiful breakfast and offered to make dinner (for a small fee) hosted in a beautiful secluded tower on property. I can’t say enough positive things about this magical place and it’s lovely hosts. I feel blessed to have stayed there.

Just be mindful that there isn’t air conditioning so it can be a little humid

The view is amazing! The interior design is classic! The host is super friendly! This is the best place and property we ever stayed in recent years.

There is nothing wrong with the property, but the road to this place is rough and filled with rocks, it took us over 20 minutes to get there. Perhaps it's due to the weather (it rains a lot). Be prepared for the drive. No cellphone signals, bring a book or download videos for your stay.
