Casa maar -Treetop tent

It is hard to put into words how amazing our experience was at Casa Maaar. My husband and I chose this as our first stop on our honeymoon and we could not have imagined how perfect our stay would be. Casa Maar was the most perfect introduction to our pura vida honeymoon. The property is stunning and photos do not do justice for the view and the detail throughout the room and facilities. David and his father are phenomenal hosts that went way above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for our stay. They have hand crafted the suite themselves, taking care of every single detail. Not only are they talented, but they are extremely welcoming; we very much enjoyed the romantic dinners for two in the tower and delicious breakfasts on our balcony each morning. Casa Maar is located in a secluded area, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the usual tourist stops. It is the perfect place to escape and enjoy. This is by far the best place we have ever stayed and we wish to come back again some day!

Nothing all is perfect

Amazing view, lovely tented camp with very delicate decoration, they put their heart in every detail. The bed and pillows amazing and the included breakfast was delicious. Also the staff very helpful. I loved the experience, totally worth it if you’re looking to disconnect for a while.

This a very special and beautiful stay. The view, the environment and the wonderful service and food provided by David and his family will make this an unforgettable and wonderful experience. It’s simply exceptional! The little doggy is worthy of a mention as well. Put him upside down, tickle his belly and watch him fall asleep in a few seconds.

The best place we have ever stayed, we will remember waking up to that view forever! David and his father were so kind and accommodating, they even drove us to see the local sights and we had a great time getting to know them. The food was also exceptional, David’s father is an amazing cook. We couldn’t recommend it more, an amazing place to experience the wonderful nature of Costa Rica.

This property could not be more beautiful. Inside every detail was considered and well appointed. It was luxurious! And the view was exactly what the pictures show. The food was fantastic and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. This was probably the nicest place I've ever stayed in decades of world travel.

Google maps tried to map us there from the north but the road doesn't go through. Make sure to come in from the south!

The location, the view (what a view !), the tent, its equipment, the sounds of nature, the quality of each dinner in the tower, the trail to the lake or to the falls, and above all, the kindness of David...

Nothing, all was astonishing.

We were fortunate enough to start our trip out here. Perfect place to catch up on sleep, unwind and have everything we needed at our fingertips. The closest market is 20 minutes away- we grabbed some beverages and necessities on our way in so we wouldn't need to leave once we got here. The bedroom feels like you are living in a terrarium, you never get bored watching and listening to the wildlife and abundance of birds. David, our host was great. We got to see some upcoming projects he has in mind, now we need to come back for an update on the property! Food was so good, both breakfast and dinner. They serve you dinner in your own lookout tower, pretty magical. Tao the teddy bear dog is just the cutest! Give him a squeeze for us ❤️
