La Cochon Rose Motel

At the end of the town and self check in this was a pleasant experience. Parking is inside outside your room. The motel room was quite dated but spacious, clean, had every convenience for a comfortable stay, was warm with 3 heaters as it was a very chilly night, had a comfortable bed and pillows. Close to the Dancing Kelpie Restaurant where we had a great meal and walking distance to the Sporting Club or the Botanical Garden at the other end of the Main Street. We loved it.

Not a 3 star accommodation as advertised. Our original 'Family Room' looked nothing like the photos and was 1-star at best. We would have been better off camping outside with a fire to warm us - it was that cold. They offered an alternative, 'Apartment', which was the room shown in the photos. That was 2 star at best. It was a smaller room, so was a little warmer, containing the heat more effectively. But still not suitably warm. They only provided low-powered element heaters in the rooms, which was inadequate for a Victorian winter, and left the bathroom freezing. The dimly lit gravel pathway to the apartment was a stumbling hazard for people with poor vision at night. They hadn't replaced the light bulbs along the pathway - the facilities appeared neglected. Slow wi-fi made for poor streaming experience. The tiny bathroom sink was not even large enough to fill the kettle half way.

Kind staff and comfortable and pretty place to stay, also prefer the family room for myself and my kids

Close to town. Good value.

Although its older it was very clean and a fabulous warm comfortable bed. Also own parking set back from main road and very quiet
