Mizu no Kaori

Real cosy Hotel. Really friendly staff. The room was clean and the futon was cozy. Food was good, both dinner and breakfast were japanese style. Staff can't speak English, but they try to help and hv all the instructions in different language.

The onsen and Bath place was abit small. I think maximum can fit 2 or 3 person.

The host was very friendly and helpful despite language barrier. Love the dinner and breakfast provided.

One of the heater in the room was broken. Hence the room was a little cold as the other heater has to heat up a bigger space area.

Staff were very friendly and obliging. They willingly picked us up and dropped us off on short notice. They went out of their way to help us. Generous access to the onsen throughout the day. The meals were a wonderful introduction to traditional Japanese cuisine.

Having to share the ryokan with smokers

Super friendly staff, very helpful and food was a treat. Onsen was very basic but fully functional and comfortable.

Traditional onsen with just several rooms was cozy and calm. Bath rooms were always available, with just a few people, sometimes even empty, what made our experience very private. We could also book a private bath room outside. Traditional food was great - interesting experience as well. Located not far from the ropeway station. So it was easy to get to the sulfur pits and then to the lake.

Food is not bad and I liked the fried fish provided in the breakfast.

The hotel is located half-way up the mountain and it is not very near to Sounzan station. Good thing is that hotel provides shuttle service from Sounzan and Gora station but the shuttle time schedule is very limited.

We really liked that they offered rides to Souzan or Gora stations each morning and they also picked us up from the stations. The food was amazing and delicious. The staff was really friendly to foreigners.

There was nothing that we did not like. When you email them to pick you up, sometimes it can take them 45min to respond if they are busy. Otherwise they normally answer your email within minutes.
