"Beautiful mixed gender onsen"

We booked the hotel on their Japanese website and were given a suite in the annex wing . The room was huge with twin beds and a dining area as well as a bath with a huge sunken bathtub and separate toilet . The balcony even had a massage chair ! There were no bottles of water provided but there were plenty of dispensing machines . Dinner was a little disappointing because the last time we came in 2017, there was a delicious crab dinner . Now you apparently had to prebook the crabs before. The best dish for dinner was the grilled beef served on a tiny skillet with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Breakfast was average . The outdoor onsen was the best with mixed gender bathing . Swimming costumes were provided. Overall an ok stay . Would have been better if they have the old crab buffet, soft pillows instead buckwheat pillows and curtains to block out the dawn daylight which starts as early as 4 am !!

"Perfect location, but a bit old and dilapidated"

The location was great, with access to lots of hiking trails from the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and you can't beat having an onsen on site!

I made the mistake of booking a smoking room as a non-smoker (it was the only room left available). The bed smelled like an ashtray, it was gross. The facilities are old and I thought it was a bit overpriced for what you get.

"Exceptional"

Breakfast was great. Location was ideal, close to transport, access to cable car, hiking, & restaurants. I very much enjoyed the outdoor spa with the mountain views, a beautiful setting to enjoy the hot springs! Both outdoor & indoor spas were very clean & well organized with lockers.

The onsen, the quaint room and the yutaka. First time experience with onsen and was good that there's costume provided.

Aircon not considered working. Have to open window and small bugs got in. Room a bit too small. Expensive considering the size of room
