Minshuku Goyomon

Everything was perfect - such a welcoming home and hosts, the food was amongst the best we’ve eaten, everything was wonderful beyond what I could have expected. Thank you!

Everything! The host actually did speak a little bit of English which made it easier to understand questions about the accommodation and to even enjoy the food more (she told us how to eat some dishes together). I also liked that there were only 2 rooms so it felt cozy like staying at home.

Food was great! The couple 'next door', seniors from Osaka, were so much fun! They made our stay extra special.

Our host was so attentive and responsive. We had a massive evening meal and breakfast meal provided that both showcased the local delicacies. The house is a traditional thatched roof cottage and the hearth was used to cook our dinner. The shared bathroom/washing facilities were well equipped and clean. Beds were comfortable and WiFi worked well. So peaceful overlooking the koi fish pond.

the lady was very nice and helpful. we arrived very late, yet she kindly provided us with a fabulous dinner! the house is very comfortable to sleep and very inviting.the location couldn't be better! the facilities are clean and pleasant.

Absolutely beautiful, the host is a delight and made us feel very welcome. Dinner and breakfast were delicious with very generous servings. The location is really special.

The host was polite, attentive and not intrusive. Considering that in other hotels around Takayama we had to stick to the hotel rules and timing and the host was always asking us questions and confirmations, we particularly appreciated the tranquillity and flexibility we enjoyed at Minshuku Goyomon. The price was also fair.

The farmhouse was charming and our host provided a lovely evening meal and breakfast. Definitely an experience you wouldn’t get elsewhere. Although it was a shared bathroom situation the facilities were very accessible and very clean.

Just be prepared that there is literally nothing to do in the village past 5pm so you will be more or less confined to your room in the minshuku. That’s not a criticism of the guesthouse but just a heads up. Also the futon on the floor is not the mist comfortable especially if you are a senior :)
