Byron Bay Hinterland Eco-Retreat Terracota Yurt

The location in the Byron Bat Hinterland was lovely. It was a camping experience, but not exactly luxury. The yurt was clean. Bed was comfortable. Good accomodation for pets.

No real view of hills and valleys from deck as advertised as trees have grown around yurt. Did not meet staff. Told by neighbour it was double booked after 9pm at night. We arrived at 3pm, let ourselves into property following email instructions. Went into Bangalow to get food, came back and settled in for the night. Microwave and toaster oven did not work, so heated food on stovetop. Neighbouring yurt was playing music loudly, so not peaceful. Was disturbed by people outside yurt after we went to bed. Was told to call managers daughter as property had been double booked. This was very disappointing. Cold air blowing in all night so very cold. Not quite the glamping adventure we had planned.

Location was beautiful.

Beautiful spot but unfortunately lots of big spiders and roaches inside. Not sure if this was caused due to the weather. We barely slept and were bugs hunting all night. Weren't comfortable staying so we left after 1 night instead of staying for 2 nights. Owner did offer to put us in a different yurt but already had the edgie buggies so we left.

Great spot. Beautiful, peaceful, in the middle of nature. Everything worked and it was fine and mostly nice but...

well there was a rat, and I didn’t really want to share. I don’t think she/he was a surprise visitor as there were baits. Didn’t bother me too much in the end, but a little unnerving and I suppose I would have preferred having the place to myself.
