"Do not recommend"

Nice view.

It is not accessible by car. You have to walk for 5 minutes thru stairs and narrow alleys with your luggage to get to the hotel. No one told us about that until we got there and couldn't find the hotel. Towels had stains on them. I was there for one night and could not sleep at all due to the noise. The ceiling in my room was the reception floor. I could hear every step of any guests that went thru the reception all night long. There is no one at the front desk to help you with anything.

"Hot and Bothered! Would not return! This needs a full makeover!"

1.0

The Location was FABULOUS with views over the ocean and an incredible sunset to boot. The rooms were small but the balcony area just lovely. Right above and below this hotel there were fabulous places to eat with a great beach bar just below and a sensational greek restaurant just above.

I am afraid there is a lot we did not like about this hotel. The staff were surly and tried to rip us off as soon as we got there. The access to the hotel is not clearly explained and we had a lot of luggage. There is no car access just foot and masses and masses of very steep steps. Although the rooms were clean enough the towels were stained and it did not look anything like in the photos. In addition and most importantly - all the electricity got turned off at 10pm and there were no lights nor air conditioning and so we literally cooked! Not satisfied at all.

Great location, walking distance to El Kabron and beautiful sunsets.

Good luck carrying your suitcase to the Villa. Luckily we had backpacks only.

"Things I hope I knew before booking. Hope it helps others."

The view is really nice

Absolutely everything else. 1. We ordered a Grab (same as an Uber) to take us there. When we arrived, we noticed that there was no way of getting to the hotel because IT DOESN'T HAVE ACCES BY CAR OR MOTORBIKE. We contacted someone in the hotel, and they told us about the drop-off location and the 5 minutes walk to the hotel (this SHOULD be mentioned before booking). We arrived at night and had to walk for 5 minutes through many sets of stairs (around 140 uneven steps) with our luggage. After that, every time we left the hotel, we had to go up those long sets of stairs. DO NOT RECOMMEND. It doesn't stop there. 2. We booked 2 rooms (one for one night, the other for 3 nights). They gave un room n°3 for one night. It was impossible to sleep in it. Guests are going in and out throughout the night, and every step someone took in the reception, we could hear it right over our heads. In the other room, we did not have this problem, but we could still hear everyone who went through the hallway. 3. The tap water in Bali is not drinkable, and they didn't even offer us bottled or filtered water to wash our teeth. 4. There is no cellphone reception, and wifi is very unstable. 5. The towels had stains on them. 6. The booking said there would be toiletries (plural), but we only had body wash. 7. The staff was nice, but there is no one on the reception ever to help with anything. 8. To top it all, one night, a part of the bed frame fell on my head.

"Ok stay with potential for improvement"

6.0

* Friendly staff (for the hotel itself and on the construction site too) * Nice furnishing of the rooms * Ocean view * Very close to beach

The air conditioning stopped working in the middle of the night, which made it impossible to sleep because it was just too hot. There was a small window that you couldn't tilt but only open fully, which I didn't feel comfortable with, as monkeys or whatever could have easily got into the room via the terrace, as there was no mosquito/fly protection for this. (There are many monkeys in the area.) This meant I was awake for most of the night, as it was simply impossible to sleep in the heat without air conditioning and the option of opening a window. It would also be nice to have a mosquito net as there are a lot of mosquitoes in the area. There is also a lot of building / construction work going on at the hotel at the moment. There is generally a lot of construction work going on in the area which, in my view, definitely detracts from the ambience. However, in general the area with its proximity to the sea is very nice, even if this is currently diminished by the many construction works.

"Very overpriced, very rude staff."

2.0

The room is decorated with nice furniture, close to the beach and near some nice brunch places. Good wifi and good a/c.

This is not a 4* hotel as advertised. Property is located down very steep winding cliff face with a lot of steep steps. No prior instructions sent from the hotel beforehand about how to reach the hotel. Taxi drivers did not know, google maps wasn't sure. In the end I rang the hotel to ask how to get down to this hotel. They said they would send a porter. The porter helped me with my luggage down to the hotel. This is an expensive hotel, so I would've expected the hotel to provide free porters. Instead, they make you pay 50k for each bag and each journey. Bedroom looks well decorated at first and has nice furniture. Bedroom and bathroom need more cleaning. There was a dead lizard on the wall, dead bugs on the floors & rat droppings in the bathroom. The bathroom was in bad condition with the shower falling off the wall, rusty mirror and tiles needing a good scrub. It's also an open air bathroom, so all of the other room's balconies are next to the next door room's bathroom and very visible at nighttime. Because they're open air bathrooms, there's lots of lizards, insects and monkeys in there too. Bed mattress was very uncomfortable. The bedroom smelt very musty and damp too. There was no staff presence most days, and on the few occasions that they were there they were very creepy, rude and demanding. There's no restaurant or bar or food or drink menu as advertised like on the photos and the kitchen area did not look used. Essentially, most of the amenities listed are not provided or available. For example, says there's a Hot Tub/Jacuzzi and Spa and Wellness Centre, Spa Lounge, Full Body Massage etc - this is simply not true. There was constant construction happening in front of the hotel from 6.30am in the morning until the rest of the day that was impossible to sleep through even with earplugs. This is not the place to visit if you want to get some sleep.
