The fridge was quite dirty and had a terrible odour which was very unpleasant - kitchen not very well equipped- no frying pan

We rented a private caravan. Unfortunately the owners were not very customer service focused. From day 1, messaging wasn't great. They failed to answer my query about an early check-in (1pm in December!). They duplicated messages asking me about the traveler details, this wasn't a big problem - but in hindsight it was indictive of their lack of organisation. The real issue was when they sent us to the wrong caravan. We followed their map exactly. Apparently, unbeknown to us, they had more than one - however the one we were directed to worked with the same key code. We had no idea we were in the wrong one. 3 hours later (while we were in Edinburgh at a gig) they called advising us that we were in the wrong caravan. They went on to "100%" blame us when they sent the wrong map, they also went on question my integrity and swore. Afterwards, they withheld my security deposit and ceased communication. Thank goodness for booking.com who acknowledged the property owners errors and helped obtain the refund. Summary is, the caravan is ok however, I'd be very wary - if you get any issue while staying I'd have no confidence in the owners sorting in an agreeable or timely manner.

Location was good. Third time stopping at the Port Seton in consecutive weeks in different caravans. Oil filled radiator worked!

Only one AAA battery provided for TV remote (2 required). Gas fire had no igniter, I suspect it was disconnected. Electric fan heater didn't work. Water pressure for hot shower sufficient for a dribble. Cold shower was terrific! Overnight temperature fell to -5° and water froze. Notified owner who failed to respond. Automated message revceived 3 hours after leaving/checking out asked me to wash up any dishes! Difficult with no water.

Very affordable and close to Edinburgh, with regular bus service available nearby for travelling into and back from the city. A beach just across the road from the park. On-site shop and food facilities.

It would have been helpful to have some written info about the gas heating - and what to do if the gas runs out. But the problem was quickly resolved in any case and we were able to cope.
