For the price the food is not worth it

The ryokan looks new and the design is elegant and modern. Our room was spacious and well maintained. The ryokan is a stone’s throw away from Yubatake and the shopping streets. The meals provided was a sight to behold and tasty too.

The inn has a lot of charm. The onsen was really cosy, not too crowded (in January), and beautiful. The staff was warm and welcoming, and this feeling applies to the inn itself. Thank you again for having us!

The staff was the most outstanding, polite staff I've ever had the plesaure to be treated with. This is what Japanese hospitality is like. I truly respect it. The rooms were big enough and very clean. The hotel in general was very well kept and the Japanese astethic was great. We also stayed in a private Onsen of the hotel for an additional charge, which was totally worth it. It was an outside Onsen and it was snowing - truly romantic. The price for value is excellent and the location is great too. Just a 3 minute walk to the city center.

Kanemidori is a beautiful ryokan just steps away from Yubatake and central Kusatsu. The room was enormous and absolutely stunning traditional tatami room. We got to enjoy new yukata designs each day of our trip, and the quiet and beautiful baths were almost always empty when we visited them. The staff didn't speak much English, but we were able to communicate everything necessary. They even came to the car when we arrived and took our bags! It was a lovely and relaxing experience.

One thing to note is there is a smoking room on the third floor. We couldn't smell smoke in our room, but in the hallway on the way to the elevator it was noticeable. If I were staying again, I would request a room on a floor without a smoking room.
