River Coquet Luxury Hot Tub Retreat

Beautiful lodge, in peaceful location on country park. Fabulous hot tub. Bed very comfortable.

The property was in a lovely location, decent outside space and parking for 2 cars. The hot tub was fab.

The property didn’t appear to have been cleaned properly ahead of us arriving. Lots of cobwebs and the shower tray wasn’t clean. The outside furniture was dirty and there was an overflowing ashtray left on the table. The pull out bed had mould on the mattress as did one of the pillows in the bedroom. The sofa cushion was ripped. We cleaned the fridge before use along with most of the dishes. The advert said we would receive a welcome pack of Prosecco and chocolates which wasn’t there. It also stated a bbq and on arrival discovered we had to pay an additional £25 to hire it.

The cabin itself was excellent, clean and spacious with all home amenities required. Hot tub was well maintained and easy to control.

The lack of information given about the site amenities was woefully inept. The ONLY bar/restaurant onsite didn't open until 4 pm on the Monday, Thursday, and Friday and doesn't open at all Tuesday and Wednesday! So lunches are non-existent during weekdays, and drinks can only be had after 4 pm on a Thursday, Friday, or Monday. We would never have booked this site knowing this, and to charge £760 for 5 nights was disgustingly overpriced.

Lovely hot tub, perfect location, really nice lodge. Oven and cooking facilities with a small under counter fridge. Really large bathroom with a fab shower and two good sized bedrooms. Outside area for hot tub is fab and hot tub has speakers so can connect if you needed to. We would book again for a short break.

There was no complimentary chocolates or prosseco. This was not the end of the world however the advert is misleading if some people were expecting this. The lodge could do with some TLC and it was not the cleanest. We had seen previous reviews regarding the cleaning. The oven trays were dirty and the utensil drawer had crumbs in. Bed in the smaller bedroom is super comfortable however the master bedroom is quite springy. However we only stayed for two days so it wasn’t a massive issue but it we were staying for long duration would be slightly dissatisfied for the price of the stay. Also the wifi is very poor so the tv was slow at times but this was only during short periods of the day.

We booked this for a little relaxing getaway to counteract the January blues. The lodge was beautiful with everything you could ask for and the park seemed well kept and quiet. The hot tub was amazing and really made the stay. For the money we paid this was well worth it.

The lodge was generally clean and well presented, although it could probably do with a deeper clean. Quite a few cobwebs and the mattress of the sofa bed was stained and had black mould/mildew spots on both sides. There didn't seem to be any shop/ local pub on site or in the area, which we could find as the golf club one was closed. We took a taxi into Alnwick one evening, which picked up and dropped off at reception, but as there's no street lights on the park you must take a torch with you and be prepared for a long walk.
