River Coquet Luxury Hot Tub Retreat

I booked this for my wife’s birthday as we just had a baby in October and wanted to go away and do some Christmassy stuff, when we arrived and tried to put the heating on as it was freezing we quickly realised that the heating was not working. We then proceeded to contact one of the owners/contacts in the book left inside the caravan to advise that this isn’t working. The lady on the phone told us that she would try and get in touch with someone to sort this and asked us to check the gas bottles at the back (barring in mind in the book left by the owners it clearly states not to check this as it is checked regularly which we have found out was not the case) when I checked this, I found the gas bottles were empty so I have contacted the lady again to let her know in which she stated she would get in touch with someone to get us a gas bottle. At this point we informed her we were there with our 7 week old daughter so we needed the heating on ASAP. She sent us a message to advise as it is off season she is struggling to get someone and she will give us a refund if we wanted to leave however we just drove 3 hours with a small baby to get there and already had stuff booked to do over the whole weekend so it was not gonna be an option for us to leave at this time to go back home. She then stated that she would try and get someone to get us a gas bottle and will give us a refund. Later on we were then visited by the maintenance man from the caravan site who was perfectly nice and we managed to sort out with him a new gas bottle he advised us to go to the reception in the morning to let them know we need one. We let the lady we spoke to know when the gas bottle was delivered, no answer. when we asked about the refund as stated in the messages sent by her we were met with no reply. To say we are unhappy with the stay is an understatement. This is something that should have been sorted before we even arrived the owners don’t even have the decency to reply to our messages.

Great location and park was nice. Hot tub was great.

Bedding in the main bedroom hadn’t been changed since previous guests as there was human hair around the pillows which did not belong to us and we had to remove the hair ourselves before going to sleep. Disgusting. The place had a disgusting strong smell of what we believe to be dogs throughout. When we returned home our clothes and bags continued to smell and everything had to be washed including clothes which were not even worn. Understand dogs are allowed in the property however they could have used an air freshener or opened all windows in an attempt to get rid of the smell. It smelt like a kennel. Used male underwear was present on the outdoor seating area upon arrival which did not belong to either of us and we certainly weren’t touching. Clearly the outside hadn't been cleaned at all. The listing stated complimentary prosecco and chocolates would be provided. There was no prosecco and a half eaten box of Thorntons chocolates were on the kitchen bench which I thought was very rude if I'm honest. Why include this on the listing if it is not offered. The cutlery and kitchen equipment wasn’t clean at all either which was also annoying as we had to clean again before use. I don't think the property was properly cleaned at all before we arrived. Such a shame as the park itself is lovely.

Was a beautiful clean lodge with all mod cons and very spacious . Beautiful areas around hot tub and balcony . Lovely and relaxing

First impressions were amazing . Lovely decor, lovely area , every piece of equipment you can imagine but there was something missing … a freezer , a top shelf would have been ideal just to keep our ice in for our drinks but there wasn’t one . Bedrooms were lovely decorated but mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable in both rooms ( good tip might be to buy new ones of better quality for comfort especially if staying for longer than two nights )

Loved the location loved the hot tub, lovely caravan overall cleanliness was good some minor improvements could be done.

There were a few things dirty shower head smaller one mainly, welcome pack stated tea coffee and milk to start you off were not present and a bottle of prosecco not there but a low alcohol wine in the fridge ,batteries missing out of one of tv controllers in smaller bedroom bedside table lamp didn't work in main bedroom. Soap dispenser in bathroom had no soap in.

Property was very clean, tidy and modern, supplied with everything you need.

Can not fault this property. I have stayed in a few around this site and this was by far the best.

We loved everything, but just a little point to maybe look at is a thicker mattress in the main bedroom.

I felt that certain areas weren’t clean enough. Also there was no tea or coffee on arrival which was in the description, minor I know.

We loved staying here the place was very clean found it had alot of quirks we didn't expect to the prosperity would love to return here again hot tub fantastic to only fault but it wasn't drastic it says a bottle of presseco and chocs there wasn't any
