Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya

Everything! We were able to park our car out the front. We were warmly greeted by Akira who was so kind and sweet. He showed us around and took us to our room - WOW! Absolutely beautiful and spacious and feels like a traditional Japanese experience on futons and tatami. The fridge even had some local Yamanouchi beers (which are very reasonably priced). We had the opportunity to book one of two onsens on premises which were just fantastic - and everything so clean. Our room overlooked the small river out the front and our other window overlooked a small garden. The facility was quiet and very well kept - the fresh flowers were such a nice touch. It was wonderful value for money and i will definitely book here and recommend my friends if they plan on visiting.

It was exactly as advertised! This is a lovely, clean, and simple ryokan, in a great location. The bus stop for the monkey forest is about 150 meters away, and the owner of the inn (who we referred to as “grandma” was so helpful in showing us exactly where to go. We booked the onsen, which is HOT, and had an amazing sleep on our futon. There was a heater provided in the room, as well as a heating mat under the table. The owners were so kind and friendly, and they gave us a lift to the train station the next day. It’s in a fantastic location for walking around the gorgeous streets of Shibu Onsen. I 100% recommend this stay if you are looking for a more traditional experience.

Akira and Yumi were the most gracious hosts. They demonstrated Japanese hospitality at its best. I love that Akira is the 3rd generation in his family to run the business. The traditional Japanese breakfast was awesome. The onsite onsen was fantastic and convenient.

老闆人非常親切，樂於協助旅客，接送湯田中車站到民宿往返。離開時有遺漏圍巾，老闆非常迅速聯繫，並且幫我們寄到下一個民宿，真的非常感謝他。

Super freundliche Besitzer, haben uns mehrfach gefahren und auch sonst einfach ein wunderschönes Erlebnis. Jederzeit wieder.

Akira est adorable , il est aux petits soins et sait nous faire sentir à l’aise . Merci à lui

Maybe the stairs otherwise it was perfect.

The family that run the ryokan were very friendly and accommodating.

Was a little adjustment to the futons, but a fun family experience nonetheless.
