Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya

Sehr sehr nette Gastgeberfamilie. Akira-san hat mit mir sehr einfaches Japanisch gesprochen und hatte dabei sehr viel Geduld :). Die Unterkunft ist mit sehr viel Liebe gepflegt. Es gibt zwei private Onsen, die man über eine Liste reservieren kann. Wir haben das täglich genutzt und sehr genossen. Das Frühstück ist wirklich außergewöhnlich gut. Für die gesamte Unterkunft gilt aber, dass es eine traditionelle Unterkunft ist, also ein Tatami Zimmer mit Futon zum schlafen und auch ein gemeinschaftliches Tatami Zimmer für das Frühstück. Die Gastgeber haben uns auch sogar zu dem Snow Monkey Park gefahren und am Abreisetag zum Bahnhof. Ich bin sehr froh diese Unterkunft gewählt zu haben, das war bisher kulturell das Highlight meiner Japanreise.

Charming place! Warm, clean very nice rooms, hot tea thermos on our rm table with a tea set all ready for us! Nice window rm overlooking the nature. There is a charming Japanese garden courtyard in the center of all the 2nd story rooms. It was a nice system to book your own personal time slot for their beautiful two cozy Onsens. The host picked us up from Monkey Park & dropped us off at Yudanaka train stn, door to door service. The hosts were so kind & sweet. I can’t wait to return!

It was all perfect. I guess the bathrooms are shared, but it’s fine!! It’s worth it!

Die Unterkunft wird von einer sehr netten älteren Dame und Ihrem Sohn betrieben. Diese sind äußerst zuvorkommend und freundlich. Im Preis inbegriffen ist die private Nutzung eines eigenen Onsen, welcher über eine Liste von allen Gästen gebucht wird. Das Frühstück war sehr leckerer und authentisch Es ist ein Klasse zwischenstopp für den Besuch bei den Schneeäffchen.

Owners were exceptionally warm and welcoming. We requested dinner in advance and it was the best meal we had in all of our time in Japan; traditional and exceptional. They made accommodations for my husband who suffered with a knee injury and even provided him with several patches to help reduce the swelling & pain in his knee. Upon departure we were driven to the bus stop … what a wonderful experience staying at this Ryokan!

It was cold outside of public rooms but that is to be expected throughout Japan when staying in inns and Ryokans. All public spaces and bedrooms are exceptionally comfortable, warm and cozy!

Everything about Yamazakiya was amazing. My second time visiting. Highly recommend. Akira and his family are delightful hosts, it’s meticulously clean, the traditional breakfast was a lovely experience and there are lots of cute dining/bar options just on the doorstep. I’ll be back. The perfect place to end a ski holiday.

The only watch out is that the onsens are hot compared to others we used during the trip. Get that cold tap on well before you try to get in!

WOW. This is a top tier stay, and we will always remember our time here fondly. We only stayed one night, but it made quite an impression on us. The owner is one of the sweetest people you will meet, and he goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and taken care of. The breakfast is wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed soaking in the hot tub there (you can reserve it for private use). We hope to be able to stay there again one day!

This was a truly wonderful ryokan stay with an incredible atmosphere. The place is full of character and traditional charm — wooden stairs with that distinctive creaking sound, lots of cultural details, photos, and small decorative elements everywhere. It really felt authentic and cozy. We were initially a bit worried because the room didn’t have a private toilet, but that turned out to be completely fine. There are several shared toilets inside the house, all clean and convenient. The breakfast was very good and delicious. One important thing to note (which we didn’t see mentioned in other reviews) if you book breakfast for 7:00, you’re expected to be there about 5 minutes earlier. We arrived a few minutes after and some dishes were already a bit cold — still tasty, but it’s good to know in advance. The hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Staff lady helped my partner properly put on a yukata and explained how it should be worn, which was a lovely cultural touch. The host also generously offered us a lift by car to see the snow monkeys, which we really appreciated. The ryokan has two private onsen baths, free to use whenever they’re available. After a rainy day, soaking in the hot spring was absolutely perfect. The onsen areas themselves were very nicely designed and atmospheric. The view from our room was beautiful — a quiet street with soft streetlights, especially lovely to watch during the rain. The town itself is very charming, and we would happily return if we’re ever in the area again.

一切都很完美！所有的體驗都超乎預期的好！山崎先生與他的母親及其他山崎屋裡的各位全都熱情又友好，即使我們的日語不太熟練，但他們總是耐心地聽我們把話說完，也會把語速稍微放慢讓我們聽懂。山崎屋裡一塵不染，房間乾淨又溫暖、早餐也非常美味！完全可以感受到山崎先生他們有多用心。旅宿內的私湯可以預約時段，完全享受私人的泡湯空間真的很舒服！！ 可以的話我每年冬季都想再來這裡一次
