Hiouchi Motel

I had a wonderful stay at the Hiouchi Motel. The location is perfect for exploring Redwood National Park, the room was very clean, and the check-in and check-out were incredibly fast and easy. The staff was friendly and helpful, and everything felt simple and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Loved this motel. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was simple in furnishings and very clean. Motel is very well maintained. Bonus was the bonfire at night in the common area with fixings for S’Mores! Restaurant next door was another bonus - excellent!

Good location just out of Crescent City. Very nice people running the place - excellent hospitality! Cool fire pit! The breakfast place next door is great -- classic old school diner.

Classic roadside motel road noise, but to be expected. The fragrance they use in the room was overpowering and pretty awful (but I guess some people like that?) Don't let 'em put you in room #1 - the plumbing in there is not good.

The room isn't too small--the furniture is too big! Hardly any floor or shelf space to put your stuff down. With 4 of us, it was super tight. I think they should have stuck to full size beds rather than putting in queen size beds. Also, they put a large TV on top of a dresser, thereby taking up the only flat surface you could have used for your bags.

The motel is very well located and its surrounding area, a national park, is beautiful. Parking is convenient and there is a nice firepit area outside the rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a very good cafe next to the motel and they serve a terrific breakfast. Motel guests get a discount on each meal.

Our room had quite a few flies on both days of our stay. Bring your own fly swatter!

It was very clean and comfortable. Close to Jedidiah Smith state park and the Smith River. The cafe Nextdoor was very good.

The WiFi in our room was itchy, probably because we were the furthest room from the office. Though the manager did help us out by giving us a different login.
