"An absolute gem!"

9.0

Nestled in glorious Dorset countryside, this fabulous historic property, is an absolute gem. Nicky and Simon are fabulous hosts. Freshly cooked delicious farmhouse breakfast to set you up for the day. I’m already thinking about a return visit for a longer stay

I like to sleep with windows open but the historic windows were not openable. But a price worth patting to stay in such fabulous surroundings

"A home from home with atmosphere, history and an excellent hearty breakfast."

10.0

As a beautiful and ancient building in an idyllic setting, I really enjoyed staying here. It is a working farm run by a very hard working family who are friendly and really lovely. I only stayed one night but it was comfy and clean, peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was excellent too. I could even charge my electric car overnight which was a massive bonus.

Nothing. It was all lovely but don’t expect grandeur and luxury (though it is grand and historical). It’s a family home with dogs, a cat and all the farm menagerie. I loved it.

"Wonderful short break"

Absolutely gorgeous property and lovely hosts. I felt a bit like the lady of the manor! Great breakfast. A couple of great pubs nearby. Stunning countryside views. Couldn't ask for anything more.

"We had a great stay and would thoroughly recommend the property for a short holiday in Dorset."

8.0

The owners are lovely and friendly. The property is very quirky and interesting. The room was of a good size with a window overlooking the garden. The breakfasts were generous with a good range of local produce. The property is well located for visiting places of historic, landscape and literary interest.

The shower was rather awkward to use because of the sloping ceiling and unmodernised fittings.

"A wonderful historic family home in an idylic country setting."

10.0

Terrific hosts in this family home and farm. Extremely helpful and welcoming. A beautiful historic building, in a quiet country setting. Loved it.

Nothing really, except the bathroom was across the landing, but such a minor detail. In a building such as this it’s to be expected. Ask to see the chapel too.

Absolutely wonderful place in a wonderful location. Beautiful room and facilities to go with it were excellent too. Simon and Nikki were polite and superb hosts and made sure we had all we needed at hand. We even took a nice walk around the farm, which gave us time to meet some of the farm animals such as the calves, donkeys and horses as we walked round. Highly recommend visiting!

Very little

"A bad booking.com experience"

1.0

I'm really surprised at the high reviews here, and want to give an honest opinion of my experience. The room I had was really creepy, and smelt of mould, there was a curtain and behind this was a chapel. I'm sure the hosts are lovely, buy imo this is not a rentable room, but a back room to a church. There's no way I could have slept there, so I explained that I wasn't comfortable and left. I then had to pay £200 to stay in a hotel that night. Unfortunately, the host took the full £99 payment and booking.com have been particularly useless and uncooperative in helping me get this money back, just saying the host has refused. It's put me off staying in homestays and using booking.com

It was creepy and stank of mould.
