"Beautiful views but overpriced bar."

8.0

Lovely view from the balcony. Sun beds were comfortable and the towels being supplied was a bonus. Receptionist was very helpful and printed our ferry paperwork for us.

The drinks at the bar were overpriced, if they had been a bit more reasonable we would have spent a lot more at the bar. There was no name on the gates of the hotel so we struggled to find it at first.

"Lovely hotel"

8.0

This was a very last minute holiday and in all honesty we wouldn’t have normally chosen this hotel. However, the stay overall has been very pleasant. The rooms are basic but clean with really comfortable beds and plenty of space. We had a queen size room - no cooking facilities or utensils but there is a full size fridge and kettle, you could very happily eat on the balcony with the lovely sea view. There are no wardrobes but there is a hanging space. Shower is small with just a curtain - not ideal but didn’t cause any issues. Sun beds are really nice and pool area well kept. There’s a bar that’s open all day pool side. Shout out to the daytime waitress / bar woman who was very sweet. It’s worth noting though that the sun beds are very close together and people are allowed to smoke poolside. I’ve not seen so many smokers in one place for years (mostly Middle aged / elderly people too) and because they were allowed to smoke people had no concern for the non smokers who had to breathe in their cigarette and vape smoke. I found that rank. We didn’t have breakfast but had a couple of lunches here and thought the food was nice and good value given the portions. It’s a steep hill to hotel but it’s a lovely walk down and only €8 back in a cab for the times you don’t want to brave the hill. I’ve seen some reviews about staff being rude, this wasn’t our experience at all. I would say that generally I find staff in kefalonia quite efficient and helpful but don’t think they are naturally very gushy or overly smiley perhaps this could be taken as rudeness but I don’t think it is imo. If you’re looking for a cheap hotel where you can stay comfortably and safely for a week or so you won’t be disappointed here.

"Nice stay"

8.0

We arrived late and were shown to our apartment in the dark there really needs to be more lighting especially with the apartments at the back. We had a few issues with the room and in the morning they gave us another room it was better, The rooms are very basic with a small electric oven and hot plates, fridge but very few utensils and crockery. No electric kettle you have to boil water in an old fashioned kettle. The bed was very comfortable, pillows were new so had a great sleep every night.lovely views from balcony. We had breakfast every morning by the pool no buffet style you choose from a menu. Breakfast was fantastic recommend the Greek omelette. Pool area is lovely with big comfortable beds. Staff were friendly especially the young girl who served breakfast every morning. We will return but feel the rooms at the back really need updating other holiday makers were saying the same thing

"Disappointing"

4.0

We arrived about lunchtime, room not ready, which was fine. We sat outside and had a drink, I went back in and enquired how long the room was likely to be and was met with a rude member of staff that just repeated “ when it’s ready, I will get you”. I said that I was simply trying to gage a time so we could plan what to do and as a diabetic my husband had insulin to get into the fridge. She rang the cleaners to find the room was actually ready, we tried to follow her to our room but she was so quick she left us behind and seemed frustrated to have to come back to find us! This seemed to instigate the staffs attitude towards us! Rooms are very basic, no kitchen facilities at all. Nice view and a comfy bed however. Shower is small with a curtain which sticks to you! Bar is very expensive and prices appeared to change through the week, which I challenged but was met with staff who didn’t really care that much! No glasses around the pool area which means you get less beer for the same price! Took three days to get fresh towels for the room, bins were emptied daily though. You get what you pay for here, but I have never known Greek people to be so rude, they are usually so welcoming and helpful. The hill is a killer but doable, unfortunately everything you need is down the hill, but with the hill comes a great view. It’s a shame because this hotel could be truly amazing, it’s not loved that’s for sure.

"Beautiful views and pool area, just a little bit pricey and up a great big hill"

7.0

The pool area was lovely and there was no fighting for sunbeds, it did make me question how many holiday makers were staying there to be honest as it should have been full. Not that I’m complaining there! The views from the pool and the room were incredible. The staff were lovely, particularly a young woman that tended to do the day shift on the bar, I’ve seen comments that they seemed miserable but we always got a smile and they were really accommodating.

The prices of food and drink around the pool meant we didn’t use it as much as we’d normally use a hotel pool. €7 for a lager and €12 for a club sandwich was insane and it was far cheaper to eat/drink in Lassi and even Argostoli, it’s a shame because if they’d have been more reasonable, I think they’d have had more custom. Plus you weren’t allowed to take your own food or drink. The hill……the hill of doom as I’d call it. Walking down wasn’t a problem and it took 10 minutes to do so, getting up was more like 15 minutes and by the time you got to the top it felt like you’d completed a workout each time. If you’re only heading into lassi once a day it wasn’t a problem to get a taxi back which varied between €8-€10 (which for literally a 2 minute drive is ridiculous but they know they’ve got you) but as it was so expensive at the hotel, we would go down to the beach most days, have to walk up and then go down in the evening meaning other walk or taxi journey. The rooms were very small and with a 15 year old daughter, it was really hard to give her privacy, we nearly let her cousin join us which I’m glad we didn’t as we’d have had to have booked another room. In the room you’re provided with a microwave with hot plates on top and an old fashioned kettle which you put on top of the hot plates. The worktops have seen better days and and there’s no facilities to clean cups etc which was fine, we bought a scourer from the shop at the bottom and washing up liquid but then once you’d cleaned them, there was nothing to dry them with or leave to drain. Very basic but did the job, when I searched for a hotel for us, this was generally the case anyway so we weren’t expecting much.

"Great family holiday! :)"

8.0

We had a lovely week at the Liberatos Village, it was brilliant to find a great deal at such a lovely apartment in the school summer holidays. Apartments were lovely and clean, all seemed to have a great view. We had a lovely sea view from ours. Rooms are spacious, we stayed in a one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the lounge for my daughter. They also supplied a travel cot for my youngest daughter on request which was perfect. When we arrived there was no hairdryer in the room, I mentioned it to the lovely lady at reception and within a few minutes I had a great one in the room to use, not your usual low power travel ones. All the staff we spoke to were so polite, kind and happy to help at anytime. The pool area was kept lovely, always clean and the sunbeds were great with comfy cushions on. Pool towels available from reception was also a lovely touch. Pool was never overcrowded or noisy and there was always space for everyone during the day. There was also a lovely bar area with seats, we didn't really use the bar or have the breakfast so can't comment but food coming out looked lovely. A lot of people comment on the hill up to the apartments. This is a fairly steep hill and is probably a 10/15 min walk up and down. A lot of people took taxis however we walked up and down at least once a day with no trouble and a 6 year old. It is steep and hot in the heat but unless you have mobility issues it shouldn't be a concern. The views from the apartments and tranquil setting definitely make up for this. All restaurants and bars are along the road at the bottom of the hill with a large supermarket close by. All restaurants are great quality with amazing food so you can't go wrong wherever you go. Highly recommend the Aqua Marina for happy hour 6-9pm great cocktails and lovely atmosphere. All in all Kefalonia is beautiful, Lassi especially and we would definitely visit the Liberatos Village again :).
