Caledon Grace Guesthouse

It’s a beautiful building and the staff took great care of us. Nothing is too much. Making fires and putting heated blankets on the beds. The breakfast was served sizzling hot and looked 5 star quality. We also requested dinner and that was also amazing. The value for money was so good, and we are definitely coming back for a summer visit and a dip in the pool.

That we had to leave. We wished we could have stayed longer, felt so relaxed!

The location was idyllically located on a private, gated estate just on the outskirt of central Caledon, beautifully curated with manicured lawns and dreamy vintage feel. Every detail of the manor was lovely, from the creaky floors, to the winding stairs, the art pieces and the eclectic furnishings. Our bedroom was spacious with comfortable beds and a heater was provided to keep the room warm. The staff were friendly and helpful and very welcoming.

As with old, vintage homes, it has it's snags of old pipes, creaky windows and poor ventilation. We were in Room 3 and just below us, the guests decided to make a fire in the fireplace, which resulted in our room being smothered in smoke. We were out most of the day but it became unbearable at night and we slept with the windows open... in Winter. The shower pressure was very low and the shower temperature was tepid, and for a Winter stay - this was not pleasant. We left with dampened spirits and all our clothes reeking of smoke, with a tight chest and happy to get out of the smoke stench room. I recommend, don't go in winter when a hot shower is needed and a fireplace would not be lit.

Staff were amazing, super warm welcome, specifically catered halal food for us for breakfast which was truly incredible and appreciated seeing that level of inclusivity. Grounds were beautiful, breakfast was delicious, super close to the Hot springs but perfectly isolated and peaceful at the same time

Absolutely amazing stay! So happy to have discovered this gem, the friendliness of the staff, awesome breakfast, best spacious room ever! Finally Caledon has a top of the range boutique hotel.

Zero don’t change a thing!!

Everthing was wonderful. The staff were exceptional. The room beautifully decorated, beds comfy, wonderful fireplace, nice porch overlooking the garden. My only issue was that on Booking.com it specified 2 beds. There was only one bed. But it wasn't a problem.

It was the best stay in our entire holiday. Even though it’s not in a vibrant city, we felt close to the culture and people and the spot itself is a little peace of paradise. We drove through the Hemel and Aarde Valley for some winetastings and ended up here; so sad we had to leave for Cape Town the next day again!

We loved it all! Do keep in mind it’s a historically and almost 200 year old Victorian building; if you expect white marble and modern furniture this is not your spot. If your looking an truly authentic stay, don’t hesitate to visite!

Charm! Charm of the old Victorian building, charm of the garden, charm of the staff; everything is full of character. Needed to stay for work (location very convenient in Overberg district) but will be back for some leisure for sure. Thanks team!

It’s an amazing place, the pics don’t do its justice enough. Beautiful rooms, garden and tasty breakfast, and the staff made us felt so at home! We never actually had so much value for money.. chocolate, fresh flowers, welcoming drinks..5 starts for sure!
