Beautiful house keeping the original flavour of the old Victorian houses

Too many explanations when arriving but made in a very polite manner by the owner.

The accommodation is lovely with lots of special touches. Each floor has an area containing a coffee machine. There is also an area on the 2nd floor with a microwave and an air fryer. Quality linen and a comfy bed added a little luxury at an affordable price. There is a little dog and a cat. Both are friendly, but the dog does bark when he sees you.

Carmen, the host, asks the guest to remove shoes, which is fine, and had slippers at the front door for guests to use. I did find it a little odd that she insisted not to walk inside with barefeet. I found my room stuffy and opened the windows for fresh air, but when I went out, staff would enter my room and close them.

I dont like anything they charge me security deposit said you guys in the room but I dont smoke and my partner smoke outside not in the room but still they charge 250 bucks damage deposit

It is rare that a hotel exceeds your expectations. We chose this hotel in part because it was cheaper than most others in town and in part because it was somewhere different to stay to all the big chain hotels. It turned out to be a little gem: beautiful, historic hotel with comfortable, well-appointed rooms and bathrooms. The owner(s) clearly made a real effort to preserve the hotel and chose the decorations well. It felt odd when we were asked to take off our shoes at the entrance, but once you see the beautiful wooden floors and feel (some of) the thick carpets, you understand why. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Sydney!

Location was great. Nice property and nicely decorated. Carmen was friendly and professional.

Had a hard time with the push button door system lol Couldn't open the door even after I got the code....then when I was going out....I Couldn't lock it!!! Had to google it

Although the room was a little small the bed was excellent, very good shower. The decor was coordinated throughout the hotel

The entrance door lock was not easy to access.

Everything. The art work was amazing. Loved being able to read the Cape Breton Post in the beautiful front room.

Staff were lovely, breakfast was amazing, rooms were sweet and cozy, and the stay all together was great. The building itself is decorated beautifully and felt very peaceful and relaxing. We'll definitely be returning here next time we're in Sydney!

Minor things that just come with it being an old building: walls are quite thin so you can hear people in the hallway pretty easily (but there is a quiet time posted and we really didn't have any issues during our stay), and there isn't much parking available (again, we were fine for our visit, but may have had trouble if it was busier). Neither thing is a major turn-off for me though so will still be visiting again when I'm next in Sydney!
