Location was great, good breakfast and room.

My booking for june 14th has been cancelled so I had to find somewhere else to stay.

The host Geoff was super friendly and accommodating. Free off-street parking--although it's a tight squeeze! Two buildings down from the Herriot Museum and walking distance to several restaurants. Cozy building with character.

Cleanliness was not up to standard, which unfortunately tanks what would otherwise be a good review. Specifics: My third-floor room smelled musty and didn't look like it was vacuumed after the last guest. Areas under beds/against walls were caked in dust, and at one point a large spider scuttled out from beneath my bed. Teapot had mildew inside. Placemats at breakfast had stains.

A perfect location and a great host. We’ve stayed here before and Geoff has always looked after us very well.

Old fashioned property whit modern bathroom. The room was bright and spacious, cozy space with an excellent breakfast.

Everything was perfect, absolutely nothing to dislike.

Location was excellent to enjoy all the facilities that Thirsk has to offer and a good base. The hotel is very local to the racecourse. Room was comfortable and facilities were good. Breakfast was great.

There is a warning in the bathroom, but the shower is not very powerful.

The location was perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The hotel itself is old and charming and very well maintained.

Not that you can do anything about it, but the car park entrance is very narrow so my car beeped at me the whole time I was driving thru it! It's obviously the entrance to the original stable yard. But I would like to have a little maid service of just making the beds and replacing used glasses or teas.

Lovely place to stay. Host was so kind and helpful. Parking available too. Breakfast was lovely.
