The customer service was very good. Geoff was a very nice man, very welcoming and gave us lots of advice on where to go in Thirsk. The value for money was also good as breakfast and parking was included. We did not have the cooked breakfast and the options for the 'continental' breakfast were limited but adequate. The location was very good. The hotel itself has a quirky, old timey charm that does give it character though in some areas it feels outdated. Some areas do need refurbishment including furnishings being worn to the point they no longer feel properly clean. A full refresh would help it reach its potential and we would certainly return if this happened.

We just loved our stay. The house is wonderful with lots of fascinating artefacts around, making it feel homely from the get go. Our room was clean and smelled so lovely. The bedding was spotless and crisp and white. The beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows were great. The breakfast was delicious and served on piping hot plates. There was ample tea or coffee and you could help yourselves to cereals and toast. Our host was very helpful and non-intrusive. We could come and go as we pleased. A classical bed and breakfast with a lovely, homely feel.

Location was good. Very pretty area. Park by river.

Milk at breakfast was going off so had to ask for more milk. Another couple had the same experience.Breakfast was very small portions

We absolutely loved the location, only a few steps from the James Herriot display, the reason we visited Thirsk. The hotel is a part of the history and the decor is very suites. The breakfast was superbly cooked by the owner,Geof who was so friendly, welcoming and full of great stories about the area
