Yuma D Homestay

A beautiful homestay on the top of a hotel with nice patios, common areas and comfortable rooms

Well, it was cloudy and raining the whole time I was in Darjeeling. But, you can’t blame the property for that…

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the owner. He was able to give recommendations on things to do, and places to eat, as well as advising about the transport and approximate prices you should expect to pay. His wife makes an excellent breakfast too. The room is simple and clean with stunning views if your lucky enough to get a clear day. I would 100% recommend staying here.

These aren’t things we didn’t like, but more things to be aware of if you are staying in Darjeeling. There are lots of stairs up to Yuma D guest house. If this is a problem perhaps don’t visit Darjeeling though as everywhere is like that! During monsoon season clothes inevitably get damp whilst you’re exploring. We found that our clothes did not dry out again in the room. I think this is due to the nature of the climate and I don’t think it would have been any different if we had stayed anywhere else. Water pressure throughout Darjeeling is poor. The shower is perfectly adequate but not powerful.

Breakfast was amazing

Everything was great. They will try their best to make your stay comfortable. The location is great, surrounded by all restaurants.

The host takes good care of all guests and supports where possible. He recommended us things to do in Darjeeling and also organized a transfer from Bagdogra Airport. It was a really comfortable stay in a well kept homestay. The place itself looks amazing and is located on top of the yuma hotel. This allows to get a great view over Darjeeling and (If the weather is clear) even the Kanchenjunga from the common areas like the roof terrace/garden. The rooms are quite big and we were lucky to have the mountain view from our room as well. The food was also amazing (we had breakfast and dinner) with an absolutely fair price. Located in Laden La Road, you are directly embedded in the lively areas of Darjeeling. We absolutely recommend.
