Hilldale Retreat

This is a truly lovely boutique hotel, and the service from start to finish was exceptional. We were greeted on arrival by staff waiting with umbrellas, followed by a relaxing dip in the heated pool and thoughtful touches like someone bringing us beach towels without us even asking. The hotel only has six rooms, which makes it feel very spacious and calm, with beautiful communal areas including a dining room, a large games room, a sauna, and the pool. Our room was large, extremely comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The bed was huge and we slept incredibly well. Although the room can get a little cool, there’s an electric heater and a warm, cosy blanket, which made it perfectly comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower, excellent water pressure, and consistent warmth. The food was another highlight. We’ve stayed in places where hotel food was disappointing, but here it was genuinely very good and thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel also arranged a tuk-tuk tour for us to visit a tea plantation and local village, which was a lovely experience. A special mention as well. I mentioned that my boyfriend was turning 40, and they decorated the room with balloons, which was such a thoughtful and kind gesture. Overall, a fantastic stay and somewhere I would absolutely return to.

Honestly, nothing at all. We only stayed one night, and the only downside was not staying longer.

Genial, sin duda recomiendo este alojamiento en la zona de Nuwara Eliya, cerca de la mítica Fabrica de Te Bluefield(100% recomendable), tiene unas vistas espectaculares, piscina climatizada y las habitaciones de 10.

Increíble. Las habitaciones muy espaciosas y unas vistas impresionantes. El trato es impecable. El restaurante también funciona muy bien. Queda justo entre el centro de la ciudad y las fabricas de te de la zona y las cascadas. Ideal para conocer la zona.

Das Hilldale Retreat liegt etwas außerhalb mitten in den Teeplantagen und mit Blick in die Berge. Es ist sehr ruhig dort und alles super gepflegt. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch das Essen wirklich lecker und ansprechend zubereitet. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden diese Unterkunft wieder buchen. Der Ausblick aus unserem Zimmer im zweiten Stock war großartig.

Lovely relaxing location, the room was very big and so was the bed (which was very comfortable). The sauna was lovely!

Food was ok, needed to be very clear about what was wanting to be ordered.

I loved the location, the view; the staff was very kind and attentive. The property is very well maintained. The bed was huge and very comfortable, I had the best sleep here in my 3 weeks trip in Sri Lanka.
