Hotel Tsubakino

The hotel was beautiful. Very quiet, clean, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was some of the best we’ve had in Japan! We loved our stay.

Очень удобное расположение относительно Нагано (рядом жд станция) и парка снежных обезьян, который был нашей целью. Красивый вид из окон. Очень заботливый персонал, стремящийся помочь в любой ситуации. Невероятно вкусный ужин традиционной японской кухни, мясо было восхитительным.

Цена показалась немного завышенной

Much nicer meals and hotel than expected. The dinners were phenomenal and very filling. The onsen was great, both indoor and outdoor baths were great! The room was very large with enough space to have our whole group together.

This hotel places a strong emphasis on personal service and attention - the staff genuinely want you to have the best experience possible and happily bend over backwards to do so. The attention to detail is phenomenal, especially at breakfast where you have a daily choice of a Japanese or Western breakfast (except for the 1st day which is always Japanese) - we opted for the Japanese breakfast for our entire stay which was filling and varied each day. Their Onsen (traditional Japanese bath houses) options were solid - clean and well appointed - I liked that you had the option to book your own private session (which we ended up doing prior to using the public option, which is gender separated and complimentary).

The hotel aims to be authentic, so be aware if you book the traditional room you will be sleeping on the floor on a matt instead of a full on bed with a mattress. Not really a fault of the hotel but I had a bit of a time adjusting and even with the mat found the sleeping arrangement a little hard (literally) on the hips and shoulders).
