Maplewood properties - St Albans one bedroom luxurious flat

Clean and walking distance to town. Quiet location

Some amenities could do with a refresh - e.g. curtains didn't open properly

I liked everything

The location was good and the apartment was very spacious & felt safe

Unfortunately we didn't have a great stay here. At the fault of no one, we arrived in the heatwave and the apartment was unbearably hot! We purchased a 2nd fan to help but because this particular apartment literally backed on to the railway line with trains running every 3 or 4 minutes, it was SO noisy so we had to close the windows. We also has issues with the hot water and the toilet seat which was unattached on arrival. Unfortunately these issues took 3 days to be addressed. We were offered maintaince at 9pm but we felt this was late and our young children were sleeping. We wont be returning to this place.

Property was very clean, in an excellent location. Close to train station and shops. Host was very easy to contact and replied immediately when I messaged to ask a question. Would 100 percent recommend

Spacious property very close to St Albans Station ideal for the town centre or getting in to London. Parking also invaluable on this occasion as I had the car.

Thr actual building communal areas needs some TLC but thr apartment is perfect.

We are two friends, teachers and enthusiasts of English history who have long yearned to visit Hatfield Old and New Palaces and the Lion Oak in Hatfield Palace grounds where Elizabeth I received the news of her accession to the throne. We happened to find this modern, very clean, bright, flexible, well-maintained and well furnished one bedroom apartment accessible for St Alban’s, Hatfield and Harry Potter Experience facilities and places of architectural and historical interest. St Alban’s Cathedral is a 2 hour revelation that includes a free one hour tour. (Our guide was Mark, a knowledgeable, retired teacher who made our tour very memorable). The cathedral hosts masses for numerous denominations of the Christian faith on different days of each week. 👍🏼🙏 We were blessed to find a kind, friendly and helpful owner and husband who are very willing to answer any specific questions and provide information to make your stay special. We are already planning a return to this accommodation in the summer to complete the sights and shopping experiences in St Alban’s and visit “Harry Potter World” to soak up every magical opportunity offered! 🪄🦄🧙🏻‍♀️

No complaints or negatives. Be aware that a quite busy railway line runs at the rear of the building which is overlooked by the apartment. However, we experienced no disturbance of sleep as the double glazing effectively diminished the sound of this transport (and, for my part, I have always found the rail rhythm quite hypnotic and soothing)!

Good location. Spacious, comfortable and modern apartment with parking included. Good value for money and a much better option than the hotels nearby.

The apartment was very clean apart from the kitchen crockery, cutlery, utensils and oven which was still dirty from previous guests. No tea towel was provided so we had to borrow one from our daughter who we were visiting for the weekend. We were aware that the property was close to St Albans City station but the noise of the passing trains was very loud at times.
