Yurtshire Eavestone Lake - Birch Yurt

The location was fabulous and the gentleman who helped us to the Yurt was helpful. The double bed was comfortable

The sofa bed was uncomfortable for my daughter and her friend they felt like they were on the floor. We didn't like having to pay for additional wood to keep warm and to keep the hot tub going. The bathroom sink was leaking and was having to mop up all the time. Also when you have a mother who has had knee surgery and was made to climb the hill wasn't good. We were a family of 4 and the stuff we had was difficult. There wasn't no barbecue there for us and when we asked for one the gentleman went home and forgot.

It was all lovely

A kettle would have been handy, and maybe a radio rather than a TV, and the toilet roll was very damp.. but these are personal preferences that is all. Although one thing was that the smoke alarm kept randomly humming throughout the night which kept waking us up.. maybe needs new batteries.

Great quiet location. Each yurt is hidden from another so very private. Lovely walk to the lake and you are permitted to swim off the pier in the lake. Be aware that there is a steep slope from the carpark to the yurts but your luggage can be transported for you to your accomodation. Definitely glamping not a 5star hotel so you have to fetch water for kettle etc. from the shower/toilet so needs a little planning. We took an extra blanket and were glad if it one morning when it was cold first thing but we never lit the heater. Hot tub is easy to heat but again needs some planning as it needs a couple of hours to get warm (we lit the fire as soon as we got out from a day out and before we sorted food and drinks. A really lovely few days. Very relaxing and something different and fun

I loved how private each yurt was. And how easy it was to check in and out. They where really helpful leading up to the trip as my arrival time kept on changing and they where very understanding and helpful

I don’t really have a negative at all the only possible thing I could think of is the very deep pot holes on the drive way to the car park from the main road. But other then that it was a perfect stay
