"Perfect glamping experience!"

10.0

My family had never been camping before, and we live in a flat without a garden, so Beavers Retreat Glamping was perfect for us to experience the fun outdoor elements, such as building fires, using the barbeque, eating outside and soaking in the hot-tub, without really enduring any of the hardships of proper camping. The dome was comfortable and spacious enough for a family of four, while still being cosy in the evenings with warm glow from the log stove. The site is very well set out, with a decent amount of privacy between each dome, but without having to trek too far to reach the toilet or showers etc. Having a private hot-tub, toilet and kitchen is ideal, and there was never a queue for the shared showers or washing up stations. The site is an easy drive to Tenby, and we also made the short trip to Barafundle Bay, which is well worth a visit. Tom, the manager, is friendly, welcoming and helpful, and he came to meet us on our first evening and was often on site. He responded immediately to all my requests. We spent an hour or so in the hot-tub every evening, and this is one of my enduring memories of the holiday, relaxing in the hot water looking up at the stars.

NB: This is not a serious one – I had told my daughters in advance that there would be no mobile signal, no free Wi-Fi and no electricity on site to charge devices, in the hope that my family could spend some together without being glued to a mobile phone. Actually, there was all three, but as it turned out, my daughters were too occupied with running around in the ‘garden’, helping prepare the hot-tub, toasting marshmallows on the barbeque or being hypnotised by the log stove to have any time for their mobiles!
