Sunset Old Town

Oceanview and the staff were great!

The view from the room was absolutely incredible!! Almost a full 180 degrees uninterrupted of the ocean. The stay is located in the old town, which in Ulcinj is not the main area to explore, so it is very quiet. As a bonus there is a rock beach that the hotel owns, where guests can get a free sunbed, which we enjoyed.

It's quite difficult to find, we had to ask some people in restaurants for directions. The rooms are in the house of the owners, which is fine, just not really what we were expecting. There are a lot of stairs leading up to the property too, so if you can't carry your bag then consider this.

Spacious room with large balcony overlooking the sea! Lovely to be in the 'old town' which is 'car free' hence very quiet! The rooms are part of restaurant KALAJA (Sunset is their bar on the rocks overlooking sea). If you get a taxi from the bus station ask for KALAJA restaurant as much easier to access and find accommodation! The room had very basic 'self-catering' - cups/glasses/plates/ kettle/cutlery. We had one meal in the restaurant which was good. Very friendly hosts.

Relatively cheap compared to other hotels in the old town. the owners are super nice and helpful.

It was a little dirty. the bathroom is tiny and if you have a bigger bum, it is almost impossible to use the toilet. Also it is hard to find if you haven’t been there before. you need to park your car on the north side of the beach (6€/day) and climb the stairs into old town. enter Kalaja hotel and ask for Sunset.

on our second evening I paid the owner in cash , she was working at the time and just put the money in her pocket, 2 days after leaving I received a phone call telling me I forgot to pay , she clearly had forgotten and I was a little offended, be sure to ask for a receipt when you pay for your room .. also there was not water for 2 or 3 hours every day , wifi wasn’t always available..
