Sunset Old Town

The location was actually very nice but it is old town and multiple ways to get there. We were tired from a long day of travel and found the 70 stairs to get to first floor, from where the room is on 2nd floor. There are 2 other ways to get to the top. One from the back where there is museum at the entrance.

I didn't like the lack of information about how to get to the location and that I was told it's old town and 13 steps to get to 1st floor. And the apartment is on 2nd floor. I didn't know "old town" means 65+ stairs. Also the kitchenette could be better equipped.

WOW! Sunset Old Town is the most wonderful place to stay ! I booked for a few days and then stayed a week longer. The views, the beach, the swimming, the food and Senada the host and all the staff are just GREAT. Why would I leave if didn’t have too and trying to find a better place would be impossible (I would have happily stayed a month if could ) The rooms are comfortable and everything you need is close by , you can walk down the stairs of to get to town but there is a little supermarket just around corner if you can’t be bothered. Honestly I have travelled a lot and this is one the best places I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying.

It's a lovely and nice place with such a beautiful view. The owner and staff are really great and kind. Despite the language barriers in my situation, they tried to help and made our stay enjoyable.

When we arrived we had no idea what to expect, we had to climb a lot of steps to reach the hotel but wow it was worth it. The hotel sits in the heart of the old town, our balcony was looking over the sea. It is so peaceful up there compared to the busy beach area. The service throughout was great, the staff friendly and the owners who we met obviously take pride in their hotel. The breakfast in the terrace restaurant was different every day. Our room was cleaned every day. We had the deluxe room with 'kitchen' outside, we didn't use it, it was a 2 ring hob. I didnt look to see what crockery there was, but we had coffee on the balcony in a morning. There are tons of restaurants on the sea front but the ones in the old town including Kalaja which is part of sunset hotel/apartments were special with delicious seafood and other options. We had a gorgeous meal on the private beach watching the sunset. The private beach (concrete and stone area with steps to the sea) was an added bonus, you pay 5 euros per lounger with parasol as a guest of sunset rather than the usual 10. It's a nice area to sit by the sea. Great value for the cost. We would certainly stay again. Would recommend the 10 euro boat ride available from the harbour it was a great day out.

Not a fault of the hotel, we mis understood but don't park above the town, it's 15 euros for 24 hours, we went there by mistake when we arrived, carry on down it's mentally busy with cars and people but keep your nerve🤣 there is free parking on the road at the bottom of the old town steps and in the car park further round. We got parked no problem when we went out and about. I personally found the music on the private beach a bit too loud, but my husband didn't mind it. I imagined Ulcinj being smaller, as i did a lot of reading and went for a smaller resort, it was generally overcrowded for what I expected down on the sea front but up in the old town where the hotel is was peaceful and lovely.

Terrible internet, dirt and dust in the room, curtains with holes, dirty rugs, broken sockets, disorder, dirt and unpleasant smell throughout the hotel and periodic lack of water ruined the joy of staying in this interesting town. The owner of the hotel does not understand English. In connection It’s almost impossible to figure anything out with this. A very unpleasant experience.
